In the mid-90s, Markus jumped the unstoppable House Clubbing bandwagon. In his homebase, the infamous Sauerland, he quickly gained an enthusiastic following, which continues to increase by the day. Needless to say it didn’t take him long to attract the attention of the Club mecca NRW, which gave him the opportunity to prove his talent and carry his musical sounds into the outside world. The experimental mix of impulsive, deep Tech-House, for which his fans love him, defines his sounds and sets and has become the trademark that has earned him the recognition and respect of his colleagues. It is this unmistakable individual style that makes Markus Selka stand out! In May 2004, the Superfly label released his first track ‘Copa Move – The New Soul’, which immediately received international acclaim. Only three months later his track ‘Friction’ followed, which was just as successful and achieved international top sales and after another two months it found its way onto seven compilations. Sin Plomo, Terry Lee Brown Jr., John de Ago and J. Cannuns are among those who like to incorporate this track in their sets. Now it was time for Markus to conquer the international club scene! Markus joined star DJs such as Karotte, Tom Novy and others and presented his live sounds to audiences in the Mediterranean and on Ibizasonica. He has just completed recording his album Boy, which will be available in stores in February. We can definitely expect to hear a lot more great music from Markus Selka in future.
