About me:
I'd like to introduce myself. First of all, I'm a Christian (yep, the born again kind!!). I have a day job at a non-profit company which, at the bottom line, helps foster care and adopted kids. I live in the San Fernando Valley of Southern California. I'm a native Californian (very rare). In my past life I have recorded albums as a drummer with Randy Stonehill, Larry Norman, and Terry Clark. I've toured with Terry Talbot and John Michael Talbot in a band called Mason Proffit, Chuck Girard in the Chuck Girard Band, and Terry Clark. I still play occasionally with Terry whenever he feels the need for a band. I played a little drums with Fred Field and Billy Batstone. I also play drums with the Worship Team at Calvary Chapel Simi Valley. Now that you know a little about me, become a friend and...introduce yourself!
Thx for dropping by and listening to my tunes! Please let your friends know both my worship rock CD's are for sale on my site, and now on iTUNES!! These CD’s were co-produced by Ron Davis the engineer on the Grammy/Dove award winning CD, “Shout to the Lord!” I've also got some FREE DOWNLOADS!
“Here I Stand” just charted in the Top 20! Be sure to ask to hear it at your local radio station! Everyone please come see the video and leave me a comment! May God bless you, and draw you closer as you surrender to Him!
That was very encouraging--especially from a guy who's recorded with some of my favorite Christian songwriters. Have you done anything with the guys from Mustard Seed Faith? or Keith Green? My dad is a huge Richie Furay fan and he went to Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa in the 70s, so he introduced me to a lot of the "Jesus music guys [from] back in the 70's and 80's."
Let me know if you have any ideas of what I could do with those songs. I'm just a young guy who recently graduated from college, trying to figure out what to do next.
Ahhh thanks Mark ~ I think he heard you because I've been getting the royal treatment! I've started my pro drum lessons last Monday. I'm practicing up a storm I tell you! Rock on!!! Say hi To Jackie for me...Mich
No problem man. No problem. I totally understand. I heard about that biography and I am really looking forward to it! I'll have to keep an eye out for your name in there!
Wow man, I have alot of those albums and love them! So you are a drummer? I am too. I play drums in a Christian metal band and then play my Jesus Music on the side. Man, I'd love to hear your story. If you ever have the time you should consider typing it up and sending it to me. I am working on a little book that I hope to self publish called "Rock of Our Fathers" that is going to consist of oral histories from musicians, bands, and artists who were involved in the Jesus Movement. I would like to preserve their stories and hear their observations on the contrast between Christian music then and now. Also, I'd like to hear what they think the legacy of the Jesus Movement is today and the one bit of advice they would offer to young Christian musicians. I recently did an phone interview with Mike Johnson of the Exkursions for this purpose and would love to do the same with you if that would be more conveinient for you. Let me know what you think. I totally understand if it doesn't work, but I thought I'd throw it out there! Blessings brother!
Sure nice visiting with you. Hope the BBQ with Richard went well. If you like Moose from Vancouver wait till you try Muskogee Armadillo! (possum on the half-shell) Just kidding we do eat some ribs in OK.
Howboutthat?! Old guys, especially old musicians, rule(and rock)! I lead worship with electric guitar this weekend, and Sunday night... we were LOUD!! Pray I still have a job. I love having my young, rockin' musician friends around me... one of which is Colin. Thanks for your servant heart toward him! dc
