About me: Mark Watson is one of the most talked-about British comedians to emerge in recent years. The winner of numerous prizes including the Daily Telegraph Open Mic Award, Chortle Award for Innovation and Tap Water Award, he has also been nominated for the Perrier Best Newcomer Award, Times/South Bank Breakthrough Award, Commonwealth Writers Prize Best First Novel Award, Time Out Stand-Up Award, and - in April 2006 - Barry Award for the best show at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. Despite all this he is perhaps best known for two marathon shows at the last two Edinburgh festivals, lasting respectively 24 and 33 hours. At the end of the 2004 show, he proposed, successfully, to his girlfriend (now wife). His first novel, Bullet Points, came out in 2004 to great acclaim and the next, A Light-Hearted Look At Murder, is out in Summer 2007. He has appeared on numerous TV and radio shows and is currently appearing in his own Radio 4 show on Tuesdays at 6.30 - 'Mark Watson Makes The World Substantially Better'. He may sound a bit annoying but he's not a bad man.
He is now trying to make a small but interesting difference to the worrying state of the planet, through his new project myspace.com/crapattheenvironment. Click on these:
Who I'd like to meet: Derren Brown. And anyone who is CRAP AT THE ENVIRONMENT and wouldn't mind being a bit less crap.
I'm convinced I have the one of three copies of Crap At The Environment in Melbourne. I couldn't find it anywhere so I ordered it from the publishers. Ha. And because I work at a bookshop I can do that kind of stuff. And you said during your show that no one in Australia works at bookshops. Come back to Melbourne soon. x Amy.

Hi Mark, you were hilarious tonight, you were my first show of the Comedy Festival this year and it was a great way to start it off. And I have to say that I love Never Mind the Buzzcocks. And Lily Allen's not that bad.
hey there how things going? your myspace is looking slick! but anyways, i just found some awesome new ringtones from www.tonetomyphone.info for FREE! they have the newest variety!
Hot enough for ya? ;) Caught the routine on Friday night - great show man... and given the fact that you'd been in hospital the previous night I have to give huge kudos (as opposed to "cooties", which arguably might have been part of the problem - or "'quitos", which actually WERE the problem) for soldiering on and blowing away the audience.
Hope you're on the mend - travel safe as you leave our fair and ovenesque metropolette. :)
