Mark Wayne Glasmire
Singer/Songwriter
From the first moment Mark heard and saw the Beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan Show, he knew that music would be a big part of his life. Soon after, his parents bought him his first guitar. This would be the starting point of what was to become his life long desire to write and perform his original music.
********************************************************************************************************************************
Early on, he had a few months of guitar lessons, where he learned some basic chords. Over the years he used these basics to mimic his favorite artists playing and singing styles. As a result, he was able to develop his own sound. This led to his first paying gigs, in local coffeehouses, while in college. After graduating, Mark went on to play at local bars, frat houses and festivals, in and around his hometown of Bethlehem, PA. ********************************************************************************************************************************
Soon Mark had enough fan support and demand to warrant recording his first album, “Sad Songs”, which was a collection of his own material. This opened the door to bigger and better gigs. Mark spent a good deal of time performing in Greenwich Village, NYC. There he was fortunate to share the stage with well-known acts such as Tom Paxton, Arlo Guthrie, Jon Gorka, Tracy Chapman and Suzan Vega. He also performed at most of the hottest spots in the “Village”, including Folk City, The Speakeasy, The Bottom Line and many others. During this period an article in the New York Times said “There aren’t many artists that get as good as Mark”.

Over the next few years, Mark went on to record an EP entitled “The Sun, The Moon and The Seasons”, a local favorite in NYC. Later as an independent artist with Comstock Records, he released 2 singles, “Hey Girl” and “Can You Feel It”. Both songs received extensive airplay throughout Europe and reached the top five on the European charts. ********************************************************************************************************************************
Mark made Nashville his home in mid 1995, due to major label interest and in order to be more involved in a creative community. He immediately began writing and performing in the “Music City” at writer’s night and local venues, including The Bluebird Café, The Exit Inn, 3rd &Lindsley and many others. As a result of his performances he started receiving local airplay, which led to the recording of his next CD, “All Of My Heart”. Mark wrote or co-wrote 10 of the 11 songs on this disc. He is presently receiving airplay throughout Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America.

In 2006 Mark recorded his next CD, “Scrapbook". This Cd is a collection of new material, as well as, older songs that Mark had recorded earlier in his career or never at all. This collection is also different in that it was recorded with Mark playing acoustic guitar and doing all of the vocals. It is scheduled for release in mid 2006. Cuts can be heard throughout the internet, as well as on this website.

Mark is currently putting the final touches on "Now I Believe" which is scheduled to be released in the fall of 07’. This CD is a collection of 10 songs written either by Mark alone or with some of his favorite co-writers. The title cut can be heard on this site.
