REVLON RED has been long considered by many glam fans and music critics worldwide to be Hollywood's Undisputed Number One Underground Glam Rock Band.
We have also been featured in a Net Zero commercial that was aired on prime time television nationally, you can view it below or on the Revlon Red myspace site (use the clickable link below). Additionally we were featured in a VH1 promotional commercial as well, which received air time in random states nationwide, to name just a few of our accomplishments.
NET ZERO "Election Night" COMMERCIAL Featuring REVLON RED
We play mainly support slots for national touring acts and also headline our own shows locally and nationally. My band and/or our music, images, flyers, etc. have also been featured in various mainstream tv shows, cable tv shows, underground cult films, soundtracks, etc..
We are also continually interviewed by magazines and on-line fanzines and our music gets random air play on various radio stations and internet programs and has been featured on various compilation CD's worldwide.
Our music is a blend of traditionally influenced '70's glitter, gutter (junkie/shock) and punk rock, '80's glam, metal, new wave and death rock and modern grungy nu-metal, all combined to create our own unique, current and vital sound.
We are presently in the finishing process of our forth-coming full length release entitled "Something Old, New, Borrowed & Crued", produced by Dave Morse (Motley Crue/David Bowie) and Russ Hawthorne (Van Halen/Judas Priest).
For More Details About The Band, Our Available Merchandise, Upcoming Shows, etc.
Please See My "News Flash" And Other Blogs Above
When I was a kid growing up I got in to glitter and gutter (junkie/shock) rock in '75, then I got into punk and new wave in '78 and started going to gigs in '80 (oh shit, I'm dating myself - and rock stars aren't supposed to do that, now are they? hahaha...).
In 1980 I began singing and writing songs and lyrics, AND I STILL DO, under the alias "CAPTAIN ANARCHY" for the Westside's notorious old school "Spraypaint Heroes of Punk Rock" band that's called
H. x P.
(pronounced "H P", the "x" is silent - it's a ghetto graffiti punk rock "homeboy" thang "Yo"!)
...a band that has played support slots over the years for major national touring punk rock headliners like Bad Religion and Social Distortion, etc., and that in recent years has released a 5 song EP co-produced by legendary drummer and producer Derek O'Brien of Social Distortion and Adolescents fame.
H. x P. - In the 1980's Mocking the "System"
(Pictured Center): Captain Anarchy as "The Pig", (Pictured Left to Right): Don of the Dead as "The Priest", Kid Kaos as "The Pawn" and Mick Wicked as "The Suit".

***************************************
I grew up in Culver City
("The Heart of Screenland"), smack dab between Venice/Santa Monica (aka "Dogtown") and Hollywood, California.
On the weeknights my teenage friends and I used to sneak out of the house to party with other punk rockers and some of the Suicidal Tendencies original band members and related Venice bands like Neighborhood Watch, No Mercy, etc. and the "Suicidal Cycos" homies at Mar Vista Park, which was the only cool place close to where we lived where punks hung out and partied. We ditched school a lot too and hung out there or at Venice Beach on the boardwalk or in S.M. at the mall and at the hip stores NaNa and Aardvarks.
***************************************
We also ditched school in the day or cruised up on the weekends in the day or night and hung out in Hollywood on Melrose Ave. and panhandled and partied in the alleys behind or in the stores (anyone remember Jim and his store Poseur ?).
We also went to gigs and hung out afterwards at Oki Dogs, Motel Hell, Errol Flynn's, etc. with other punks and sometimes some of our homeboys from the L.A.D.S. (L.A. Death Squad), who gave me my nickname "Captain Anarchy" because I was a kid singer in a socio-political punk band that dressed like a punk rock Zorro, and members of H.R.P. (R.I.P. - Eric "Shooter" McVean) and various heads from the Dogpatch Winos and The Firm (anyone remember Tony? He used to watch out for us!).
***************************************
Some nights we used to squat at the Sarah Street house in North Hollywood and get rides from our homeboys in F.F.F. (Fight For Freedom) to raid the McDonald's dumpsters for food in the morning. I ran away and lived at the house on and off for a while with Eric "Shooter" (H.R.P.) when my mom kicked me out for shaving my head, ditching school, staying out until 2am after gigs and coming home drunk (you know; the crazy things that kids do...).
My punk band H. x P. were supposed to play our very first gig at a crazy party at the house one night but in the ensuing chaos our bass got jacked. But we didn't care, we liked Sarah House and I liked staying there, it was fun and it was my first experience living away from home. Besides, we ate well every day thanks to the F.F.F. homies and we cranked the tunes, got drunk, smoked bud and clove cigarettes and did what we wanted.
***************************************
It's a bummer that those days are kind of a beer-goggled blur and hence I don't remember a lot of the people I knew back then and/or that I have lost touch with some of them since.
However I have recently been rediscovering many of them and sharing good stories of the old days and forging new one's as we all hang out again.
Anyway, I'm just talking here about various people and groups that I knew or hung out with when I was growing up, I ain't "from" anywhere, I just know a lot of different people.
Most of my friends and I were never actually in any particular punk "gang", we were what some call "affiliates", as we were more like socio-political "taggers", so don't be asking me where I'm "from", because the only place I'm "from" is The Kingdom of Heaven under the Command of God!!!
We caught a lot of flack from some of the heads on all fronts because we lived between the "territories" and floated between them, but we also had a lot of friends on all sides, and we still do (so don't fuck around fool....).
A lot of people kind of felt like the whole punk-on-punk violence thing was ultimately a large part of what killed the scene, be it from non-gang related misunderstandings in the pit, or rivalries between the various punk gangs, or whatever, etc.. But it was also other factions with other motives and police-on-punk violence as well that contributed, not just the homeboys or the other reasons I stated above, so no one specific is really to blame.
Regardless, ultimately the clubs just wouldn't book the bands anymore because the scene in general just got too violent, for all kinds of various reasons, and the clubs always got smashed up by the punks themselves and raided by the cops (who smashed up the clubs too and framed the punks for it...), which was a real bummer.
The bottom line is that the scene just got too big; there were just too many new people from all different walks of life coming in to it all at once, and that's how "shit happens".
It is good, however, to see that a lot of the homies from the various factions or "punk rock gangs" all seem to get along for the most part nowadays, and that punk has come back in a big way, even if it's not quite the same as it used to be, or never will......

Additionally, I sing under the alias "Liege Lord Marcus McHungwell" (Known On The High Seas And Land Abroad As The Infamous Pirate & Highwayman "Captain Anarchy") and I am the primary songwriter in my latest breaking new project that is called
GALLOW'S END.
It is primarily a neo-classical influenced medieval dark metal band (or "baroque" metal, if you will...), but features crossover influences of punk, pop-punk, nu-romantic, horror rock and various time period oriented musical stylings as well, along with a coinciding warrior-pirate image and stage show.
We are in the process of writing new songs, building our website and following, developing clothing and armour, and shooting photos (and flintlock pistols too.....).

I have also OFFICIALLY appeared in the part of Vince Neil in Hollywood's Premier Motley Crue Tribute Band CHILDREN OF THE BEAST !!!
I have appeared as "Mark Neil", along with drummer Seann "Lee" Scott (from Revlon Red), and featuring bass player Ashley Sixx and guitarist Trash Mars.
We worked up a set of early 'Crue tunes, and the later hits, and we have the authentic style costumes and stage show from the "Shout At The Devil" era tour.
Over recent years we have been having a great time gigging and it has really come together.
We are currently on hiatus from gigging and touring, but we are soon to release live recordings and videos.
So keep your eyes and ears open for them, and hopefully we will also be "back in action" and bringing our show to your town soon, in which case you can come on down, show your support and get a Piece of OUR Action !!!
Add us as a friend and you will receive an event invitation on Myspace for all of our future gigs.
AND CHECK OUT MORE VIDEOS, ALONG WITH A COUPLE RAW & LIVE VIDEOS FILMED ON A CELL PHONE CAM AS WELL BY CLICKING ON "VIEW MY VIDEOS" UNDERNEATH MY DEFAULT PIC IN THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THIS SITE !

AND IF YOU DON'T THINK IT'S COOL TO LIKE EARLY MOTLEY CRUE (or glam and glam-metal, for that matter) BECAUSE YOU ARE SO "PUNK ROCK" THEN LET ME EDUCATE YOUR POSEUR ASS -
The 'Crue started out IN the punk scene playing at L.A.'s infamous punk club The Starwood, and I STILL have a cassette tape recording of legendary D.J. Rodney Bingenheimer (aka "Rodney on the Roq") of KROQ playing them on his radio show in 1981 and talking to a guest D.J. with a show like his in N.Y. about "how different they are for a 'punk' band".....
SO YOU CAN JUST GET TO BLOWIN' !
***************************************
I am the Ultimate Decadent Anarchist... I have virtually attained being as free as one can be and still subsist in the fascist facade we call "society". And though I am a vegetarian and I enjoy the wilderness I have too much fun exploiting and being entertained by our so-called "society" to become a fuckin' tree-hugging, granola-eating, crunchy-ass Grizzly Adams style hippie !!!
I am known as being a "Fashionably Late Man of Leisure".
I'm Wild and Free.
I live the random Rock Star life of excess TO THE FULLEST !
I Eat like a King, Drink like a Roman, Sleep like a Cat (or Van Winkle, depending...), F**k like a Beast and Party like Jeff Spicoli (or like it's 1999 !!!) whenever I Damn Well Please !
I ONLY obey rules when they suit MY need or fancy,
I have NO routine and NO ONE tells me what to do... Period !
In short I do exactly what I want to do, and I also proudly wear the different types of clothes and sport the various images that I want and WHEN I WANT whether anyone else likes it or not.
And the bottom line is that these are some of the things that are largely in part what qualifies me as a legitimate anarchist punk rocker !
And if I want to "rock 'n roll all night and party everyday" then that's just exactly what I do too.
And the entire operation is bank-rolled by each and every one of you - the general public, and my adoring fans, whose loyal support keeps me rolling in the dough !
All of you support me in more ways than you will ever be able to imagine; for the facets of society are the cards up my sleeve. Every time you "clock in" and collect, spend money, see me play, buy my merch, listen to my music or promote me in some way you contribute to my delinquent lifestyle, and I absolutely L-U-V YOU for it !!!
I look forward to flipping thee back some bounty or kicking ye down some wares upon wake-ee bake-ee at thy pad some day (after having polished off yon supply the night before) as I clear out the fridge, toast the phone, freeze the computer, blow up the head & smoke-up the joint. Thank you very much............ LMFAO !!! - Just kidding... Maybe... NOT !!!

No, but on a more serious note, I am an eccentric yet very open-minded individual with many interests such as music, dancing, art, fashion, hiking, camping, sailing, films, history, etc..
Actually, most people seem to think I am a very nice person with a fairly decent sense of morals, ethics and values (aside from my overly "flirtatious reputation" with the ladies, that is.... or of course my occasional punk rock fits of beligerence, dissension or aggression that I sometimes exhibit....).
Many also say I keep very nice friends.
I like most of the music and other things in life that interest me relatively equally, however my particular preference of the moment sways like my true-to-form rock star swagger!!!
Who I'd like to meet:
I like meeting just about anyone. I particularly like "talking shop" with other musicians or music fans. Sometimes I also like to discuss socio-political subjects, history and warfare as well (oh shit...look out... the Captain's gonna get up on his soap box.....).
I would simply like to make new friends, male or female and also hope to attract new fans for my bands as well as to network with other bands.
I like people that are nice and pleasant to be around, so if you're a belittling, condescending, patronizing individual that likes to make disparaging remarks you can just log off this site immediately before you get bitch-slapped !!!
I typically don't respond to inquiries that don't include a photo unless I already know you.
Check out the rest of my profile for more details about me, particularly my blogs, song lyrics and pictures, and don't forget to click on my various bands links and check them out as well.
So don't be shy, send me a message or add me as a friend!!!
