Marlene Santa se gesta en Argentina y se desarrolla en
España desde comienzos del 2006 en tierras burgalesas, de donde
es el batería. El guitarrista y la bajista vienen del under musical
argentino, encontrando quizás en esta fusión de orígenes
el porqué de la música de Marlene Santa.
En lo compositivo el trío se acerca a un universo salpicado por
el espíritu del post punk británico y también influenciado
por el sonido de varias bandas de la mítica escena underground
argentina.
Se utilizan afinaciones profundas, riffs de gran reserva y matices que
aportan luz a la oscura melancolía infinita, con pinceladas electrónicas
y melodías elaboradas con el latir del corazón de la banda.
Ambientes marcados por muros de sonido reforzados con intensos doble-bombos
del batería, acordes abiertos y distorsionados de bajos y guitarras,
olas de efectos, reverberaciones salvajes y pequeños detalles que
enriquecen el resultado.
El lado electrónico del trío es el cuarto integrante que
aparece cuando la banda lo necesita. La secuenciación y los loops
electrónicos forman parte del concepto Marlene Santa; para el grupo
es un despegue atrevido quizá el inicio de un viaje con alma rocker
y latido electrónico.
Composiciones atmosféricas de estructura y sonido Marlene Santa.
Muchas canciones de Marlene Santa presentan un carácter psicodélico
y algo agresivo en sus directos.
En sus conciertos siguen dándose el privilegio de tocar alguna
versión de sus referentes en sus comienzos, como lo son Peter Murphy
o Sumo (banda argentina ya desaparecida).
El grupo ha tocado en diversos festivales, como Sonorama 2006 y ha realizado
actuaciones principalmente en Castilla y León.
Después de varias maquetas Marlene Santa ha grabado su primer cd
en los estudios NeomusicBox, trabajo co-producido y mezclado con el técnico
de grabación-productor Raúl de Lara.
La banda recibe la participación en el disco del stickista Guillermo
Cides (myspace.com/stickista) aportando a la obra especiales momentos
ambient en dos de las canciones grabadas, siempre con la calidad que caracteriza
a este músico invitado.
Actualmente Marlene Santa prepara la presentación del directo para
su nuevo trabajo.

The Project was born in Argentina and was developed
in Spain from the beginning of 2006 in the Burgos region where JimÈnez
comes from.
Cides and Canale come from the underground music scene in Argentina giving
this a fusion of cultures which gives a meaning to the music of Marlene
Santa.
In the composition of their music they bring together an avant-garde universe
sprinkled with the spirit of post British punk and also influenced by
the underground movement in Argentina.
Deep refining riffs with extensive amounts of quality and shades of light
that contribute to highlight the dark infinite melancholy, full of electronic
strokes and melodies elaborated with the sanguineous pulse of the band.
Atmospheres marked by walls of sound, and reinforced by intense doubled
base drum, open and distorted chords of bass and guitars, wild waves of
effects, reverberations and small details that enrich the end result.
The electronic side of the trio is a fourth member that appears when the
band needs it.
The sequencing and electronic loops form part of what is the Marlene Santa
concept; for them it is a bold takeoff for the band, the beginning of
a voyage with a rocker soul and an electronic beat.
Atmospheric compositions with a clear Marlene Santa structure and sound.
Many songs display a psychedelic character and something aggressive in
their live shows. In their concerts they still enjoy the personal privilege
to plays covers of some of the bands that have inspired them from the
beginning for example bands like Peter Murphy or Sumo (an Argentinian
band now lost in many peoples memories).
The group has played in diverse festivals, such as Sonorama 2006 and has
performed in shows particularly in Castilla and LeÛn. After various
demos, Marlene Santa has recorded their first album in Neomusic Box Studios.
It was co-produced and mixed by Ra˙l de Lara and Marlene Santa.
The band has also had the pleasure to have Guillermo Cides (www.stickcenter.com)
the renowned stick player collaborating on two songs, which has given
quality ambient moments that this special musician always provides.
At this moment in time Marlene Santa are preparing the live debut of their
new album.
