As a young boy, Marlon Van dreamt of being a singer.
So, he started his own band, “Divine Praise”. But it wasn’t long before Marlon had bills to pay and sadly,
the band wasn’t enough to support him and the other 13 musicians and singers that came with it. When
Marlon was 21, he was given an opportunity to join popular Christian pop band, MIC. Marlon travelled
extensively with MIC and had the awesome opportunity of witnessing God changing lives all over the
world. This was the inspiration behind his debut solo album, NOBODY ELSE.
Marlon was with MIC for 5 years when he realized that God was calling him into a new season.
In November 2005 Marlon left the band to pursue his solo career.
In 2007 he released "Your Love Is Like". The album and its title track topped the charts on
Kaya Fm and other South African radio stations. He was also nominated for a prestigious
SAMA (South African Music Award) in the Best Urban Gospel category.
Marlon moved to Johannesburg where he is currently working for Rhema South Ministries. He is
married to Paulette and they have a beautiful daughter, Catie-Jade (3). Marlon finaly completed
the long waited 2009 album called I'M A BELIEVER. He believes that this is by far his best work.
Marlon’s mission is to continue to use music to share the love of Christ.
