The Dutch Rock band MAROEN was founded in January 2006.
Their music is emotion: expressive, sometimes really aggressive, threatening and confronting, sometimes very intimate and small.
Guitars and intense vocals are the heart of their sound and they are not afraid to experiment on stage to see what comes out.
Their songs are written with honest emotions that come from personal issues and drama's and can have a different meaning for everybody.
The band has already been on the Dutch TV and radio and played on some major festivals in their debute year.
They have also appeared on various compilation CD's and they've recorded their debute E.P. all by themselves in their own studio to get a really honest and untouched sound.
At the moment the band is working hard in the studio rehearsing, writing and recording a full length album!!!!
The band consists of: Maroen Franse (Vocals & Guitars), Mitch de Vries (Guitars),
Michel tol (Drums) and Noah Smits (Bass)
People asked me..Why start a new band... Because I have to... Music feeds me, it feeds my soul, I need to write, play, record music out of necessity, it keeps me sane and sometimes drives me insane, but it's what I do. The most important thing about this band is that it has to be real, true, because music is emotion. I know there is a lot of people that want to see me fail, judge me, but hey if I can't please everybody, why not just please myself with this band, I'm singing, I'm writing the songs, willing to do the work, I hope that everybody that I find to join this band will also give himself 100% musicaly and emotionaly so it will be their thing too.. I found a great young guitar player in Mitch (Mitchel de Vries) who really plays with emotion . The style of music is Rock / Alternitave I guess.. Just Songs, no shredding or stuff like that..
