In June 2008 we toured in the Central Asian Republic of Tajikistan which borders Afghanistan and China. A short video capturing our experiences
Whilst we were in Tajikistan's capital Dushanbe we had the opportunity to visit local music centres. Amongst them was the Shahidi Foundation where a spontaneous collaboration occurred between ourselves and musicians of local instruments.
It was always one of the dreams of Maroon Town to travel off the beaten track and explore the world. This is a short account of our trip to the little known republic of Turkmenistan in Central Asia.

We do quite a few gigs and workshops in prisons, including one in a high security prison in Kingston, Jamaica. This is one we did in a boys prison in Kazakhstan. A tad more of a brutal regime than you would get in Feltham! You can see the essential good in everyone here.
