Love to collect Books and Records for my little library. | | Music | I developed the love for music in 2nd grade and became fascinated with stereos and electronics shortly thereafter. I grew up connecting home stereo systems, installing car audio systems with way too much Bass, and building Professional Sound Reinforcement systems for DJs and Live Performances.
At the height of the strutting / popping / breaking days, I was introduced to DJing by my cousins in San Francisco, around 1983, I've been hooked ever since. Gigged as DJMikey at the high schools and house parties throughout my junior and senior years.
A lot of music was introduced back in those days that has shaped the music and culture of today. If you grew up in the 80s, you know what I'm talking about.
Continued to progress into a full fledge crew with my partners when mixing and scratching were hype.
Today, It's a combination of a sound reinforcement company that focuses occasionally on large events, Club and mobile DJ, but mostly a hobby now collecting music, high end audio gear, and digital instruments.

My work includes remixing, post-production, and sound engineering. Still have the hook for stereos, just on a much larger scale. I still take things apart but NOW I know how to put them back together.
Currently working on a Project Studio, something for my Boys and me to stay creative. We're creating beats and rhythms, sampling and sequencing, live vocals and effects. Working on old school, freestyle, and 105bpm hip-hop mixes. Constantly ripping vinyl for Serato. Upgrading to Pioneer to integrate with my MacPro. Getting my hands wet with Apple's Logic Studio and Digidesign's ProTools. | | Movies | I'll watch a good Action Film anyday. 2nd are movies which move you emotionally and spiritually. Lastly, home videos of when my kids were small and I was 130 pounds. | | Television | SpikeTV. TruTV. A&E. Discovery.

About me:
Welcome to Big Poppa's Place.
Calling the Bay Area home since day 1, we relocated to Las Vegas in 2005 for a change of scenery.
Exhausted with the Rat Race of work in Silicon Valley, I brought my engineering experience with Cisco, Altera, Spirent, and IDT to Cox Communications of Las Vegas as the VOD Engineering Supervisor working on the latest Video-On-Demand systems for the Hotel, Casino, and Resorts.
My past projects have been installing high end Video and Data systems at the Red Rock Hotel and the Palms Casinos. For 2008, I'll be working on the Trump and Palms Place Residence Towers, and the Hard Rock and Stratosphere video technology upgrades. Working as an engineering leader by day, I also work on multiple side projects by night. One is my online store, www.islandh2o.com which offers the latest in specialized sporting gear and pacific islander gear.
Other projects include pro-audio / studio activities, DJ and remixing, book writing, art & design, and management of my 3 sons' aspirations. Nick is our latest with his break into the professional dance industry.
Nick recently performed with Disney's Corbin Bleu in his latest music video filmed in Las Vegas. He choreographs for local Hip-Hop artists and is an assistant instructor for Tevakanui, a popular and award winning Tahitian dance troupe in Las Vegas. Currently signed with DDO Artists Agency, his latest accomplishment is performing with Cirque Du Soleil for their The Beatles - LOVE show at the Mirage.
Our current endeavor is the opening of Pure Movement Dance Studios - Las Vegas, Nick's very own Performing Arts and Dance Studio, with doors scheduled to open in the Summer of 2008. Stay Tuned at www.pmdstudios.com!

LOL, that's like OLD news Mister. She sent you an add request about 1 year ago and you declined her (haha). She just assumed that you didn't remember her! Well glad to hear that you do (hehe). Last year when we were in CA and had our little gathering @ Grandma Violeta's house... she came and hung out with us. Her and I have a mutual friend... that's how I know her.
