About me: The Federal TRIO Programs are educational opportunity outreach programs designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
TRIO includes six outreach and support programs targeted to serve and assist low-income, first-generation college, and disabled students to progress from middle school to post baccalaureate programs.
The Talent Search program identifies and assists individuals who have the potential to succeed in higher education.
We serve schools in Mason and Wayne Counties.
In Mason County, we serve Hannan High School, Point Pleasant Middle School, Point Pleasant High School, and Wahama High School.
In Wayne County, we serve Buffalo Middle School, Ceredo-Kenova Middle School, Crum Middle School, Fort Gay Middle School, Spring Valley High School, Tolsia High School, Vinson Middle School, Wayne High School and Wayne Middle School.
The program provides academic, career and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to the postsecondary school of their choice.
Talent Search also serves high school dropouts by encouraging them to reenter the educational system and complete their education. The goal of Talent Search is to increase the number of youth who will complete high school and enroll in the postsecondary institution of their choice.
