Andersson Unveils new ESP 8 string bass
Bass Player Marten Andersson (Lizzy Borden, George Lynch, Starwood), a
long time player and endorsee of ESP, has unveiled photo's of his new 8 string
ESP Bass. "I have played ESP's for most of my life," explained Marten
Andersson. "Working together with ESP, and based on my ideas and specs we have
created a prototype of my first custom bass. This is a true, unique 8 string
bass that has been refined in my head for a couple of years. I chose top
components and the highest standards and craftsmanship that ESP offers. This
bass stays in tune throughout a full headlining set and it is one of the
loudest, most powerful basses I have ever heard."
Only available factory direct through ESP (at the moment) as a built to
order. This bass was designed on Andersson's original specifications and comes
with top of the line pickups and hardware, but can be outfitted with either EMG
or Seymour Duncan pickups, Schaller or Dunlop Straplocks, and Black or Chrome
hardware. Featuring a standard 8 string ESP B Series neck (with different
headstock), 34" scale with 24 frets. The model incorporates a metallic red
sparkle finish with star inlays as fret markers. Fretboard/inlay: rosewood/stars
and Gotoh Tuners.
The new signature bass can be seen in the Lizzy Borden video ''Under Your
Skin" which premiered on MTV's Headbangers Ball last weekend. The
track comes off Lizzy Borden's CD "Appointment With Death" out world-wide
on Metal Blade Records.
For
well over a decade, Marten Andersson has been the bassist for the
legendary hard rock band
Lizzy Borden (Lizzy Borden on Myspace). They have since toured the
world and played with groups such as Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Dio,
Motorhead, Kings X and many more.
Lizzy Borden premiered their latest CD which included artwork by Multimedia genius and Spawn
creator
Todd McFarlane) and their world-wide tour in front of 35 thousand screaming fans at
the "The Wacken Festival" in Germany.
In 2008 the band did various festival
appearances in Europe, in which they got the highest score at
Sweden Rock (9 of 10, higher then Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Judas
Priest, Poison etc.) and best reviewed performance at Bang Your
Head.
In November 2008 Lizzy Borden toured the United States with
Finnish Monster Rockers Lordi (booked by Live Nation). They also did a European headlining
tour performing in 11 Countries. Lizzy Borden most recently
performed as the first-day headliner of the two-day Keep It True
XII festival at Tauberfrankenhalle in Germany with live
appearances coming up at rocklahoma and Rock Gone Wild.
Lizzy Borden's new Video "Under Your Skin" is now in
rotation on MTV’s Headbangers ball, Music Choice as well as radio
stations around the country. The last video "Tomorrow Never
Comes" was nominated for video of the year 2008 on MTV's
Headbangers Ball.

Andersson has done five tours with Dokken guitarist George Lynch
(and his Lynch Mob.) They most
recently performed a marathon, 26
shows in 30 days, including a much
talked about feature on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The line-up was:

STARWOOD
The Hollywood based group "Starwood" (featuring Marten Andersson on Bass and backing
vocals) released their debut CD "If It Ain't Broke, Break It!" worldwide on Metalblade Records
to raving reviews. If it ain't broke, break it gathered airplay all
around the World and the video's for the CD includes 'Subculture'
and Bad Machine (click
here for video's). Starwood returned from a series of
successful Japan concerts and are now working on
their follow up CD. "Starwood captures the musical
feel of rock icons like Cheap Trick and Kiss and couples it with the raw energy
of bands like The New York Dolls resulting in a record that rests
among the likes of Velvet Revolver and Buckcherry."

Legacy's debut CD was recorded, mixed and completed at Master Groove
Studios by Marten and Jonas, with the assistance of studio owner Dave Morse (Aerosmith, Guns 'N Roses, Van Halen and Warrant).
Legacy is described as "addictive, in-your-face

Marten recorded two CD's entitled "Second
to None" and "The Rocks" with "The Jonas Hansson
Band" (Roadrunner Records). The Jonas Hansson Band features members from
bands such as Alice Cooper, Alcatraz, Marty Friedman Band and Silver
Mountain. The J.H.B. project was featured in many European and Japanese
Television shows and publications (such as Burrn!, Guitar Player, and Young
Guitar etc.)

Marten had acting credits in movies and Television
such as "Sweet Justice" (Melissa Gilbert), Rock N' Roll Detective (NBC Pilot),

a reference and musicians guide aimed towards musicians for record companies and
demo submissions. The first edition sold out in no time and is considered to be the definitive guide for any musician.

"celebrities" are Fabio, Alison Eastwood, Ally Walker and many more). This calendar is very affordable and
the proceeds goes to charity.
Marten holds bass clinics, music seminars, performs at music trade
shows and gives a limited number of private lessons whenever possible, he also devotes much of his time and

The people who don’t see the cool in Make up, Axe blades with fake
blood and a singer that goes through Halloween masks like festival beers, will
not like Lizzy Borden. If you like all this, combined with awesome ‘Wasp’ meets
‘Queensryche’ metal and the same (emanate) singer that is a lion tamer with the
audience - yes, you might just say, like me, agree that Lizzy Borden is the
highlight of the entire SRF. Certain die hard fans might have missed certain
classics, but the new “Appointment with Death” - songs lifts to high heavens
live, and I got to hear “Me Against the World” do not complain.
