About me: i was born on the 15th january 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia USA, so if i hadnt died on the April 4th 1968 (39)i would be 78 now. I was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee.
I won many prizes. My most valued one is the Nobel Peace prize which I won in 1964. My other favourites include the Presidential Medal of Freedom which I got in 1977 and even after my death, I have had many awards in my memory such as the Congressional Gold Medal in 2004. There are also plans to make my very own monument called the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial! I wish I was still here to see it! lol I dont like to brag but I was one of the main leaders of the American civil rights movement, a political activist, a Baptist minister, and was one of America's greatest orators! If that wasnt enough, in 1986, Martin Luther King Day was established as a United States holiday! :D
Who I'd like to meet: My all-time fvourite, *..Mahatma Gandhi..*
Throughout is life, he maintained non-viloence and truth and was a student of Hindu philosophy who lived a simple life; making his own clothes for example, and lived on a vegetarian diet. Gandhi's life and teachings inspired not only me, but Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, Steve Biko, Benigno S. Aquino, Jr. and Aung San Suu Kyi! And through us, the American civil rights movement and the freedom struggles in South Africa and Myanmar respectively.
