Martin performs live as a soloist using laptop and woodwind. He is a also a member of various improvising and composed music groups including duos with poet Geraldine Monk and vocalist Julie Tippetts. His long running electronics duo with Chris Bywater, Transient v Resident, expands into the trio Deckslaps with the addition of turntablist UTT. He collaborates regularly with USA based zeuhl/prog/sludge band Combat Astronomy, and with the highly respected UK electronica group Radio Massacre International. Occasional duos with violinist / thereminist Beatrix Ward-Fernandez and saxophonist / sound designer Herve Perez also surface from time to time. In a more jazz centred sound world, he works with the AACM influenced Hornweb quartet. He also co-promotes regular improvised music events in Sheffield as part of the Notes & Sound team.

Hello Martin. Thanks for sending me the Combat Astronomy CD. Strong Softs influence and you sound quite Eltonish on alto too..great.I think I can recognise my tenor but it was such a long time ago. My flutes sound good and Micks bassoon as always. cheers
