Martin Chalk’s latest release, Always, is a collection of new ‘church tested’ worship songs, sung by thousands at Seacoast Church where Martin serves as worship pastor. The cry of this worship leaders heart is that these new songs would make you more than a listener, his desire is that they would draw you into being an active worshiper, a Jesus singer, whether in your car, in the gym or in church, you would find yourself joining with a larger chorus in worshiping the ‘one who saved you.’
Martin had the privilege of working with some of the best in the worship recording world on this project: produced by Andy Piercy (Delirious?, Matt Redman) mixed by Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin), mixed by Paul Burton (Athlete, Snow Patrol). They have all left their imprint on these songs, with one over-riding goal, to help capture a sense of worship, in addition to a great audio experience. The recording process was bathed in prayer and a pursuit of God, starting in the private worship times where many of the songs were initially birthed....
Martin was born and raised in Paisley, Scotland, where in church he was surrounded by live music from an early age. He was encouraged to participate and this is where his love for music grew. It was also here, where authentic passionate worship for God was first experienced and has stayed with him ever since. He first started playing guitar at only eight years old and over the years once his music started to develop Martin has had the privilege to play music in various parts of the world including the USA, UK, Africa, and Europe.
Although Martin has been creating music for years, Always is definitely the start of a new rousing worship journey. While keeping an acoustic base, the songs incorporate a wide range of influences that color the songs with unique ideas, while reflecting a heart full of authentic worship, that stirs the soul. .. ..
