Dividing her time between the US and Australia, Martine has been bringing her acoustic rock/folk brand of music to the USA for the last 4 years. Releasing 8 cds in a solo capacity and with the highly successful Australian duo The Velvet Janes., and has toured with Ani DiFranco, Luka Bloom, The Cowboy Junkies and Arlo Guthrie. She has played at music festivals such as; National Women's Music Festival, Woodstock Folk Festival, Willamette Folk Festival, Iowa Women's Music Festival, Portland Pride, Milwaukee Pride and Michigan Women's Festival, Bethlehem Musikfest and Port Fairy Folk Festival with The Velvet Janes.
This Australian singer/songwriter/guitarist is a one-woman operation: publicist, manager, booking agent, record label owner, visionary, producer and artist. And in the fine tradition of hard working DYI artists, Martine continues to perform over 150 shows a year at festivals, colleges, clubs and in living rooms across the country.
In the 4 years that Martine Locke has been touring the United States solo she has released three albums, played over 600 shows including music festivals, colleges, clubs, pride festivals and living rooms and maintained a sense of fun, passion and independence...indeed, maintained her decidedly wicked Australian sense of humor along the way.
Simply put, she’s independent by Name .... Independent by Nature.

About this page: I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there is a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There is also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D
