After many years of playing big brass instruments and even with a
cheap unplayable tourist didj in the house since he was a boy
Martin began playing the didjeridu only after he was captured by the
sound of the yidaki in the music of the
Australian rock band Yothu Yindi. He has travelled to
Arnhem land, home of the Yolngu and of Yothu Yindi, to study
both the playing of yidaki and the culture of its origins,
He has had the fortune to meet and learn
from several Aboriginal master yidaki players, in particular
from Djalu Gurruwiwi and his family.
Martin's sound and playing style is strongly influenced by these meetings.
His sound is raw and earthy while his
his compositional style is distinct from that used in
traditional aboriginal music. Music is a means of expression and
the sound is the vehicle.
My music comes from that part of me to which I do not have direct
access. It reflects my inner desires and feelings which become
rhythms, beats and the weaving together of the great range of sounds
that the didjeridu is capable of producing.
He performs didjeridu and tuba solo, with his band Arbura,
and together with chorale groups and performance poetry. He has a couple
of cd's in the pipelines.

Grazie!!quei disegni sono vecchi di qualche anno ne ho fatti di nuovi, con una tecnica migliore, perfezionando lo stile verso il realismo(ovvero attraverso lo studio dell'anatomia e della luce) dovrei infatti aggiornare i disegni!! ma per pigrizia non ci perdo molto tempo!! da quanto suoni il didgeridoo??
