Bio
Originally from Greenwich in South London, Martin Perry moved to Dorset and then Hampshire before settling in Newport on the Isle of Wight. A bizarrely diverse working life -from nearly 10 years as a London firefighter to legal adviser to computer sales to office worker - one thing has remained constant; his love of music. Over the years Martin has played in several bands playing everything from blues to soul. He became frontman for blues/rock bands The Distributors and later on Chameleon. Martin is now concentrating on playing and performing the music he loves; laid back acoustic folk and blues. He writes his own material as well as playing covers in his own individual style. His guitar work has been described as sublime (especially after a few pints of Tanglefoot). Here are a few of his own songs for you to listen to. Also included is an electric version of his song Comin' Home that Martin recorded with former Chameleon band mates Gary Murphy (drums) and Wade Geary (bass). Not looking to be 'discovered' Martin is just looking to meet a few friends, get a few gigs and play music. Martin is available for bookings at festivals, gatherings, weddings, funerals, hotels, wine bars, nice pubs, private functions, expenses paid world tours etc etc. Also available if you are a musician and need some backing on guitar etc. If you need any more info or want a CD please don't hesitate to contact him. Martin is also an experienced photographer having had his work published in a number of publications so he is also available for assignments/shoots etc. -

Just Martin and occasionally he ropes in a few talented guest musician friends to play with. -
Influences
Bert Jansch, Richard Thompson, Nick Drake, James Taylor, Martin Simpson, Martin Carthy, Bob Dylan, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, J J Cale, John Martyn, Jeff Buckley, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Marriott, Led Zeppellin, The Beatles, Pete Townsend, Jimmy Page, Albert Lee, Tim Hardin... in fact so many people I can't possibly list them all or you would get incredibly bored. -
Sounds Like
Would not be so presumptious to say sounds like anyone apart from Martin Perry but there are certainly echoes of Bert Jansch, Nick Drake, Martin Simpson, Jeff Buckley, Dylan - obviously all great influences.

Hello Martin!
I haven't spoken to you in ages! Alas I don't have much time to go on here very often any more.
Hope you'll forgive me.
I also hope you don't mind me sharing the news that my new album 'Not Utopia' is coming out 1st July (very exciting).
We've also done some fabulous photos and completed the 1st of 3 videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrqUXGCW46k (would love to know what you think).
New photos are here:http://www.dorisbrendel.com/doris-brendel-not-utopia
Anyway - I hope you're well! Would love to hear what you've been up to.
All the best,

Welcome, Martin!
I invite you to my new songs, to be uploaded by Friday, along with almost an album's worth on REVERBNATION/susanoshea. Couldn't help but relate to your photography experience with a stranger in your blog, as my little life has been full of just these kinds of bloopers!
The latest? My attempted GEEKDOM in uploading to Reverb, where my legs, git and smile grins out, with the silliest bio and one AWFULLY RECORDED song! I thank everyone who has managed to enjoy the crude bush recorded demo that's been on here for three years! With the HELP of my producer, everyone will get what they deserve for their loyalty and ability to 'hear beyond'- A MUCH BETTER THINGO TO LISTEN TO!
With Best Wishes, and I invite you to join me on the REVERB,
The Musical Mum from Melbourne.
