Martin's Blurbs |
About me:
I've been living in Boulder for close to 20 years now. It's a great town that has allowed me to indulge my many interests, primarily art, music, travel and architecture. After I graduated with music and business degrees from the University of Colorado, I founded Sh-Mow Record with Tom Peppard and enjoyed the experience but decided the music industry wasn't for me and wasn't paying the bills. Construction did. After working my way up from unskilled labor, I became an estimator/project manager and learned that aspect of the industry by trial by fire. A few years later, I founded Bauwerks Constuction and we hit the ground running. Work Hard. Play Hard. We built many of Boulder and Denver's premiere restaurants and remodeled homes that have been featured in national publications. Around 2000, I rediscovered my interest in art and this passion eventually took over an increasing portion of my life. Now I now own Alcove Fine Art on the Hill in Boulder where I showcase my work as well as other local artists.
I love to travel and my international family paved the way for this interest. After a bout with a mystery illness over the past few years, I've finally been diagnosed and am now in treatment. This was a huge burden which was lifted and I finally feel like myself again after this torment. Life is good again.
