Experienced drummer Sam Selby has worked both around the UK and in France with artists as diverse as dirty rockers Oedipus and Disco Inane through to electro punk outfit You Love Her Coz She’s Dead.
Versatile Ben Hartley plays both bass and double bass and his eclectic musical taste is reflected in his ability to switch between a wide variety of styles.
Andy Pyatt served his musical apprenticeship playing guitar in rock bands before developing a passion for the blues and it’s the combination of the two influences which make his style so distinctive.
Looking for keyboard player... get in touch if you like the style and think you fit the bill.

"Fine sounding record with interesting songs and some great performances’

The Choice of Kings have been a long time a comin’. All have been wending their way through musical lives, other bands,
solo projects, day jobs and extra-curricular activities for days, weeks, months and years.
Martins own journey started long ago and has travelled many a mile but found itself parked for a while
in Bath at which point a little time was spent kicking back and writing and recording. Early in 2008
he finished recording the album “Into the Abyss”, with the help of Shorn Rah and other notables, which would become the bands initial vehicle. During
the recording he was introduced to Sam who played drums on the album. And then back
to the day job. In stepped Bruce (the 6th Choice – sextessential?) who helped with the ads and web stuff.
Eventually the viral network reached Andy P.
Martin and Andy P started to rehearse with a view to an acoustic set to be used to entice band members.
It wasn’t needed. Ben reached out through the web and with drums required Sam jumped aboard.
Rehearsing commenced in March and went well from the off. Most of the “Abyss” tracks were played with a couple of new tracks and the odd cover.
And now the tunes and others have been aired at Porter Cellar Bar, Bath, 23rd July. Looking for gigs. "Before the Ink Dries":
....FRIZZ RECORDS is proud to announce our second official LP release...
"Modern Mediaeval" is the third LP from singer-songwriter DAVID GARSIDE, and the first to receive the full Frizz Records vinyl treatment. It’s also clearly the most fully-realised statement of his distinctive vision so far…
It’s an easy route to locate David in the tradition of his ‘classic’ influences (McCartney, Nick Drake, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, The Beach Boys, Love, Talking Heads, Peter Gabriel, Dexy’s…), but there are few songwriters working today that have absorbed these influences so fully, and arrived at a mature style as David has…
This is ’singer-songwriter’ music in the sense that it’s focus is on song-craft and the unfolding of the lyrical vision of a single individual, but if so then it’s definitely at the sophisticated end of the scale (’progressive’ if that term isn’t too loaded…), filed alongside ‘Bryter Layter’, ‘The Hissing Of Summer Lawns’, ‘Pretzel Logic’ or ‘Surf’s Up’...another FRIZZ RECORDS instant classic!
"Modern Mediaeval" can be downloaded from the iTunes Store
The album is also available on heavyweight vinyl LP, or on Digipack CD from www.FrizzRecords.com & all good retailers
