Singer and songwriter, Marti Dorner, brings a powerful
sound to today’s contemporary Christian music. Her unique and soulful vocal
style vibrates through the hearts of people. At the tender age of eight, Marti
began singing. Originally from Nassau, Bahamas, Marti was birth into a musical
family. It was only a matter of time that music would find its way into Marti’s
heart.
“When I was young, my father, an evangelist saw to it that
his six talented daughters accompanied him to every possible event. Music became
real to me at the age of sixteen,” recalls Marti. “It was then that I began to
understand the powerful message that music can bring to restore and bring peace
to the soul. My parents discerned this gift of music and made certain that we
utilized those gifts. Little did I know that this was the beginning of a
burning desire in my heart…the love of the gospel through music became my life”
With this yearning for more, Marti moved forward in
developing her vocal abilities under the direction and inspiration of many of
today’s musical leaders such as Ron Kenoly, Thurlow Spurr, Tom Russell, Chris
and Carole Beatty. Her vocal elegance has led her to do professional studio
recordings for Disney Studios, DuPont Inc., Larnelle Harris and Pastor Kitt
Brewington. Marti is a partner of Victory Christian Church International
(Pastors Dwayne and Kitt Brewington) and serves as assistant choir director and
sings on the praise team.
Marti also ministered with her five sisters in a group
known as The Francois Sisters. She has performed in various events throughout
the continental United States, Bahamas and Europe. She has appeared on stage
with Stellar Award winner Martha Munizzi, Pastor Benny Hinn, Clint Brown, Marty
Copeland, Karen Wheaton, Sandi Patti, Larnelle Harris, Babbie Mason and many of
today’s leading Christian artist.
She has made appearances on TBN Christian television Super
Channel 55 and WAJL radio station.
Marti and her husband Doug have been married for 13 years
and have two boys, Kyler and Cameron.
