I like music. I can't be bothered writing out all of the bands/artists that I like, because that would take a rather long time. Instead, I'll list what I'm listening to lots right now:
TANAOU
Bat for Lashes
Sincabeza
Dirty Summer
Oceansize
Braid
What Price, Wonderland?
Daft Punk
and other stuff. I have a last.fm account, which can be found by clicking that thing below.

Hi, I'm Martyn. I am 22. I work in Asda café in Glenrothes. I want to leave this town, without leaving my friends behind.
LIKES
Good cups of tea, hot chocolate, ridiculous energy drink that is most likely corroding my insides and the occasional pint, hugs, good company, long nights spent discovering new music and rediscovering old. Cuddling up to someone. Whispering. Holding hands. The good times shooting the shit and having generally awesome banter with my friends, Iain's pish patter and the way he gets annoyed when he's telling a story and we're blatantly not paying attention. "AHM TELLIN A STORY!", Sheeve just being Sheeve. SARE, Nae seal. Ten Second Rule jam sessions. Travelling the country on a budget, even if that means sitting on a packed bus for 10 hours. Music in general. Buying records. The feeling you get listening to a new record for the first time. DIY ethics, not for profit gigs and the awesome people I associate these with (Maxi, Garvey and all the guys from Drive Carefully and This is Our Battlefield). Thunder storms and listening to post-rock as they unfold.
DISLIKES
People adding unnecessary "the"s to band names, the expectation that because I'm in my early 20's that I should have an idea of what I want to do with my life. Being in my early 20's and still not really knowing what I want to do with my life, other than my vague aspirations to leave Fife and move to Glasgow. Bad and expensive cups of tea or hot chocolate, typically from service stations or train stations. Being single. Being ignored completely by people I counted as friends. Lying awake at night, contemplating all this bullshit, until my mind finally switches off.
Also, if you're in a band and you want to send me a message telling me to listen to your stuff, that's great. But don't do it without sending a friend request. Chances are, I'll accept you anyway. OK?
ADVERTS:
Who I'd like to meet: people from near me with similar music tastes, people who want to form bands, put on DIY shows and generally have good banter, a nice girl to listen to records with.

hey there, appologies on the very delayed response - only just noticed your comment. and i'm sure you'll have realised by now that we did not manage to play the thistlefest gig, however we'll be sure to let you know the next time we're playing locally?
that's a shame about not getting the session done (we kept all our instruments in our tents over the weekend especially!) but we'll do it another time. :)
I thought I'd drop by to let you know about the upcoming I Have Clones UK tour this July! Dates are up on my page now but basically we're playing everywhere from Glasgow to Torquay and if you can get down to a show it'd be awesome to hang out.

and since you are special and this is a special day and I am such a generous person... lol Here is something special for you! :)
We are very excited to announce our first 'real world' photograph exhibition at the 13th Note in Glasgow. To launch this exhibition, we are putting on a show on the opening night - the 6th July.
Tickets are £4 and all profits of the gig will be given to Yorkhill Childrens Foundation.
You can also bring along a mixed cd which you can swap with someone else. Please include a tracklist and have fun with the cover. This is a great opportunity to promote all the bands you love (or your own band) and show your creative side. Please come along, get some new music & badges, view photos, enjoy amazing bands & say hello. :)
