Perhaps a little bit like: Kings of Convenience, Simon & Garfunkel, Nick Drake, Johan Norberg, Bo Kaspers orkester, Susanne Vega, Anna Ternheim, Elliot Smith, Andy Mckee, etc.
All that you hear on the songs/videos is played acousticly by just the two of us and recorded in one single recording. Our music style can be described as soul/pop/jazz/folk with the unique playing style as our trademark.

Since 2008 we have played in "Marty & Gus" and developed our own unique playing style. The hallmark is Martin’s single left-hand playing guitar-style, with egg percussion, shaker, in right hand, and tamburine with his foot. In this way it sounds like both a guitar and a small drum set, at the same time. Gus is playing a 6-string bass guitar that sounds a bit like a guitar.

We live in Stockholm, Sweden, and are twin brothers.
In november 2005 we participated in Emergenza Acoustic festival, and won the Swedish competition, and got the prize "most original band" in the final in London. See also: www.acoustichero.com

Marty and Gus's music is played in the intro for the guitar competition Acoustic Hero (and don't skip intro...)! We have also have had a music project with female singer, see: Acoustic Illusions
but now we only play in "Marty & Gus".
There are now two new songs on the page: "We Lose" (a kind of reggae/singer/songwriter style), and "Colours" (a kind of muzak-bossanova style). There will be more new songs.

Marty & Gus är en tvillingduo som spelar akustisk experimentell musik. Tack vare den unika spelstilen låter det som om det vore fler än två som spelar samtidigt... Martin spelar gitarr med ena handen och en shaker med andra handen som han slår mot gitarrkroppen. Resultatet blir ett häftigt enhandsspel och samtidigt ett trumliknande ljud från gitarren. Gustav spelar 6-strängad bas vilket kompletterar ljudbilden på ett bra sätt. Det låter som något i stil med en trillingtrio…
Vi har vunnit svenska Emergenza Acoustic, tack vare vårt unika sätt att spela. Hur låter vi då? Musikenstilen kan beskrivas som akustisk singer/songwriter-pop, i stil med Kings of Convenience, Simon & Garfunkel m.fl.
