"I remember sitting on the edge of my bed,long after I should've been asleep,waiting for our Mark to come home from ERIC's(legendary Liverpool club). Just to hear who played that night, because even the names of the bands sounded amazing.After the excited,runaway heartbeat had calmed down I'd drift off into the most amazing dreams of being in one of those bands...ANY OF THEM!!! Just to play in ERIC's...NO!!! just to be IN ERIC's...I must've been 7 or 8...wow!powerful!!!"

Since these dreams Martyn Campbell went on to learn three chords at the age of fourteen,put a couple of bands together,then put the guitar down for three years.Until hearing 'The La's' demos,rushing home that night and realising he could play along(roughly)to these songs that had pulled him out of the sleep and back into the dream.
Soon after he had the experience of hearing 'LOVE's FOREVER CHANGES',nothing was ever going to be the same again.
"I remember saying on that first listen in the car'I'm gonna play with him one day'!!! and what's odd is I've had that before and since,with Pete Wylie(WAH!) when I heard Better Scream and Joe, and Richard Ashcroft when I heard Bitter Sweet Symphony(I don't believe any being who has a heart that says they're not moved by those lyrics), and I ended up playing with ALL of them."
He has since been the busiest lazy person(his words not mine)this writer knows,playing with such people as-
RAIN,
LOVE(ARTHUR LEE),
WAH!,
THE LIGHTNING SEEDS,
TERRY HALL,
Guested with GOMEZ on SITAR!!!,
Many more forms of WAH!,
The one and only RICHARD ASHCROFT,JOHN POWER,
Co produced and played an array of instruments on STEVE ROBERTS' album 'IT JUST IS',aswell as ongoing recordings and gigs with the Wylie and Roberts connection,SHACK,BLUESEED,
HOWIE PAYNE, THE STANDS,MIKE BADGER,KEALER,RAYS... ...And a host of others.
In the downtime he started writing songs that will soon be up here for your pleasure... or pain,,,you've got to cater for the cynics aswell...they need LOVE too.
