Martyn was born in Vlaardingen, The Netherlands. He started his musical career by playing bass in a Dutch punk rock band when he was 14. In 1989, he moved to Los Angeles and played with the likes of Thelonious Monster and Too Free Stooges. In 1992, he joined Peter Distefano, Stephen Perkins and Perry Farrell to form Porno For Pyros. Throughout his extensive career, Martyn has worked, recorded, toured and/or performed with: Jane's Addiction, The Cult, Dave Gahan, Scott Weiland, Daniel Lanois, Maria McKee, Layne Staley (Alice In Chains), Marianne Faithfull, Thelonious Monster, Sugarcult, Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave), Mike Martt, and many, many more. Most recently Martyn has been working on his own music and he has been composing for film and television.
He also produced Keith Caputo's current solo release "A Fondness For Hometown Scars". (Mixed by Vincent Jones and Martyn Lenoble)
The record features Keith and his band, with guest musicians Flea (RHCP), Zac Rae (Pedestrian, Gnarls Barkley), Gerry Leonard (David Bowie), Craig Ross (Lenny Kravitz), Vincent Jones (Dave Gahan, Sarah McLachlan) and others.
