I've been playing traditional Scottish and Irish music for 13 years, mostly solo on the hammered dulcimer and guitar. The last 2 years were spent with a group called the Bear River Band (the music that you're hearing), but unfortunately we're no longer playing together. About two years ago I picked up my first Irish bouzouki, something I've always wanted to try my hand at but never really had a good excuse to get one. The band was the perfect excuse, and I love it. So right now, I'm working in a duo called Cranachan with Carolee Bowen, another former Bear River Band member. Cranachan, in case you don't know, is a Scottish dessert (with just a smidge of Scotch). Think it's strange to name a band after something delicious? Well, just think of us a dessert (with just a smidge of Scotch). Anyway, we're working on a recording right now and I hope to get some new music up here soon.
Cheers,
Marty
What an awesome musician! Gotta pick up those heels and dance when Marty's around for sure! Great times man! Definitely lookin' for more in the future! - Richard

Just got delivery of a new Docherty Carved Archtop Cittern. Oh my God. You've got to come over and play this one. Before you do, you'll need to re finance the house, as you won't get out of ordering one.
Damn. I just wore my fingers out trying to keep up with you on St. Anne's Reel. Saturday. I hope (looks like I'm going to be laid off; so all the more reason to come jam, says I).
