The main objective of this Texas based tribute band,is to recreate what an actual Hendrix live experience was like..IF you were not fortunate enough to have been there,which a VAST majority of us were not...Marvin has been told many times by people who did experience Jimi Hendrix in concert,that he actually took them back to a very special time in their lives...To nail down Jimi's tone,Marvin owns and plays 2 era correct 69 reissue custom shop Fender Strats..The amps are all tube 100 watt Marshalls...a JCM 900 dual reverb,and a JCM 2000 DSL(dual super lead)...The primary reason Marvin has such a striking resemblence to Hendrix,has a lot to do with the fact he is the SAME Cherokee Indian/African American ginetic mix as Jimi Hendrix...The resemblence other than that is purely coincidental...As far as guitar style is concerned,Marvin's musical background,style and sound is also amazingly similar...It is EXTREMELY RARE for ANYONE to look AND sound like JIMI HENDRIX!! The Bass is handled by good friend and former Power Surge band mate Anthony"Tony"Bradt,who plays a Fender Jass Bass just as both Hendrix bassists Noel Redding and Billy Cox used...The drums are mastered by former Rush Hour (R&B)band mate Dennis"The Menace"Taylor...This band on the stage,is as close as you'll EVER get to an actual Jimi Hendrix EXPERIENCE!! Marvin also has a TON of original material,and 12 of these original tunes have been studio recorded with Marvin doing all vocals and playing every instrument except keyboards...This compilation is released under Mr.MARV on an album CD titled"Who Do You Think I AM"which is available at CD Baby.com.....8 single song downloads from this album are available for .99 each right here on this page,and you can actually listen to 4 of them in their entireity before purchasing them..They've just been uploaded,and you can find them right below the 6 Hendrix covers...."Mr. Politician" and "Come on and Change"were both inspired and written during the Louisiana Hurricane Katrina fiasco,and still TELL IT LIKE IT IS to this day.....
