Dedicated to blues music with a positive message, Blues Revival is simply a jam band with a passion to play. With influences such as The Allman Brothers, Derek Trucks Band, and Government Mule just to name a few. This Greenville, South Carolina based group has many years of recording experience but definitely should be seen live to appreciate the improvisational skill and true Revival experience.
The twin lead guitar work of Marvin King and his eleven-year-old son Markus Lee are at the center of the band’s overall sound. But the extremely tight rhythm section of Chris Green on bass guitar and Jim Ball on drums pulls it all together into a well-oiled music machine.
Marvin King's Bio
Born to an Air Force family, Marvin Lee King began his travels practically at birth. After four years in Greenville, SC which is now home to Marvin, his wife Leanda, and his children Holland Nicole and Marcus Lee. The next stop was London, England, and then on to Germany which is also home on his Mother's side.
Coming from a musical family it was natural progression to begin his career as a guitarist and vocalist in the European arena. The list of influences would go on and on, but to name a few: Jimi Hendrix; B.B. King; Eric Clapton; Jimmy Page; Freddie King; Duane Allman; Dicky Betts and Johnny Winter were all instrumental in developing his own unique style.
As a professional musician, Marvin's career accomplishments brought him to two major recording contracts. In 1978 with Polydor Records and in 1992 with Liberty Records (Capital Nashville) out of Nashville, Tenn.
All of these achievements could never fill the void in Marvin's life. So upon the birth of his first child, Holly in 1993, Marvin rededicated his life to Jesus Christ, stepped out in faith, and made a commitment to answer " The Calling".
