Marvin Lee Williams is what a person might call an aspiring star. He writes, sings, and produces all of his music. He could be called a triple threat. He was born March 27, 1985 in Houston, Texas. Shortly, after him and his mother moved to Bryan, Texas. Growing up, Marvin had plenty of opportunities to show his musical talents. His first performances were on the stage at Solid Rock Baptist Church. There at the end of each service, he would sing the closing song. He quickly found that he enjoyed this. In his kindergarten class, he would dance for his teachers and classmates. As he got older, he began to sing more in church, taking leads and solos whenever he could. At school, he was very studious, and even started his own newspaper “Newsflash” which was sanctioned by the school principal. It ran a total of 6 issues (one issue every month). About this time, he also started writing music. He wrote his first song “Clap Your Hands” a contemporary gospel but shared with few. He got a chance to be in a major Broadway play at the beginning his middle school years. Marvin’s local community choir had a major chance with another choir to be in the then traveling “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” Major Broadway play from New York City. This was one of the few major Broadway plays that that allowed locals to get in to the act by playing the chorus. Marvin even got his chance to stick out for a minute. When in the final number he gets grabbed and lifted by one of the main characters in the play. After this experience Marvin did choir through out middle school and a little of high school. And he took every chance to steal the show. Each year, doing something that would make him stick out. Whether, it was out dancing the other boys on recital night, or singing a song from the “Joseph” play on stage by his lonesome. During his years in high school, he wrote a mixture of materials. Mostly, parodies of then modern day hits. It took off with success for him; he even sold copies and was very popular at school. Eventually, he grew tired of this and wanted to make his own songs. From that point to now, he has made several self made albums not really promoting them except among family and friends. Now he is ready to try and hit the big time with his most recent collection of songs. His album “Visions” is a collection of all of his best work put together into an easy to listen to format. His sometimes silky, and at other times, chillingly rough voice guides the listener through a constant change of topic and emotion. Until, one is literally blown away by the ride and ready to hop back in the seat for one more turn.
