  • Bio

Sensual, moody, moments of angst yielding to nostalgia. These are some of the many colours of Mary Ancheta & the Mantra. Risen from a time when growth was needed and the only way to evolve as people and as musicians was to make a great shift to change. With a new intensity and a desire to create a sound derived from all of their influences the core 3 members (Mary Ancheta, Trevor Grant, and John Bews) set out to define a unified sound together to satisfy their muse. Songs from the upcoming album from Mary Ancheta & the Mantra were written in Vancouver, Canada, upon her return from the Warped tour through North America, and the writing process will finish being penned in Singapore where she is currently performing for 4 months. It is all of these experiences along with the textural guitar playing and input of singer/songwriter, producer Jonathan Anderson that helped breathe life into the sound of the new album. Live Life is the long awaited debut album from Vancouver songwriter/singer/pianist Mary Ancheta. This self produced album was recorded in Ancheta’s very own home studio, Transientworld Audio, along with the help of musician/engineer/ and co-conspirator Mark Lazeski. Mixed by Roger Swan (k-OS, Swollen Members) and mastered by Todd Simko, (Pure) .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
