Named after Shakespeare's mother and the artisan town of Arden, Delaware in which she was born, Mary's musical cravings took her from the small town to the big city. Now residing in Los Angeles, she has been busy with her new music project, ARDEN of EDEN with Mark Gorman, writing and recording songs featured in television ("Joan of Arcadia" & "Criminal Minds") and movies ("The Thing About My Folks" & "Solstice"). They have just released the new "Love Street" CD to enthusiastic reviews. California living seems to agree with the blue-eyed brunette. In her spare time, she lends her voice to the sanscrit chanting world, hula hooping and loves creating chocolatey goodies and cuddling by the fire. She misses her doggy, Groovy, who inspired her to go hiking.
The strong desire to affect people's lives in a positive way has always been a part of her world. While friends spent summer break at the beach, Mary volunteered many years for United Cerebral Palsy Camp Manito, attended by her brother (and number 1 fan) Pete, who was born with Spina Bifida. Today, Mary is actively involved in environmental and humanitarian causes. She donates a portion of all CD sales to organizations that spawn positive change.
Mary combines the honesty of John Mayer, the passion of Ani DiFranco and the pipes of Kelly Clarkson.
It is so great to finally be past all the snow! (We had snow all the way up into the start of June!).
Now, the Robins and all the other birds are here making nests, and filling the day with song. I wrote a short song about that, come by and have a listen.
