Mary Crowell has just released her first solo album: Courting My Muse!
Courting My Muse is now available at and
Mary lives with her husband, Wesley, and their son, Simon, in Athens, Alabama. She has taught piano and composition for nineteen years.
As a resident of north Alabama, she currently teaches music appreciation, class piano, and private piano lessons at Calhoun Community College in Decatur, Alabama. She also teaches yoga at the Athens-Limestone Wellness Center.
Her music ranges from upbeat jazz to soulful blues with some Latin influences. Her mythology-inspired lyrics tell stories of sultry statues, summertime beagles, doomed mummies, and ravens.
In August, 2004, Mary accepted the invitation to join Three Weird Sisters and looks forward a long and happy collaboration with the band. The band is now recording its third CD, Third Thyme’s the Charm. Mary Crowell and Teresa Powell form a singer/songwriter duo called Birds of a Feather. Expect to hear more about Birds of a Feather soon! Mary performs with Play It With Moxie, a jazz band in the greater Atlanta area.
Who I'd like to meet: Other musicians --particularly in the Southeast, but really anywhere.
Other folks into science fiction and fantasy.
Those interested in yoga.
This thing doesn't record replies to comments, seems as if. I'm pretty sure I made one. But then, I'm getting old, so maybe I only THINK I replied...
Anyway...yep, we're doing all right. Just finished the last marching band event, so we're done with that for the year (I hope). If memory serves, you're either gearing up for or just getting back from OVFF. Hope you did well and won some of the many things you were up for!!!
By the by, I did enter both CDs into CDBaby this weekend, and either I or Jamie will get the first set of each off to them early this week. So, I should be joining the ranks of commercialism very soon. Maybe I'll be stuck on a shelf close to you!
Well, TTFN (ta-ta for now). I also understand you won't be at Windycon this year, so, if Brenda still wants me to try, I'll be trying to fill in for you at something she's cooking up. Should be fun.
Thanks for your kind feedback on my Best Kept Secret free download album. I'm glad you enjoyed it. We have these electronic jams every month - no-one much comes to watch but we have a fun time. It takes us 90mins to set up and 90mins to play, tho :-( thanks again, mdear. You are a star. CCx
Thank you for your kind words. I enjoyed your CD very much also. As of the moment, our next local show will be on Thanksgiving. We will perform at the Athens Cracker Barrel from 11 AM to 1 PM, but I know you probably will have plans with your family. We hope and plan to have some more local shows in the spring. See you again soon. May God bless you and yours!
I'd love to go. Hopefully, when I get a second job ~cough which I need to do soon cough~ I can be off at least one weekend a month. I can already have the date set and ask. :) I wanna go! Hugs
Oh my gosh! I had SO much fun Saturday. I thoroughly enjoyed dinner with everyone! Thanks so much for the invite! I certainly want to stay in touch. Please do post more pics of your family. I can only imagine your son being as adorable as you! Thanks again!
