A restless heart and devotion to music has made Mary Fagan a true original with wide ranging influences. You can't easily fit her neatly into any particular musical category. New American Troubadour would be an apt title.
What she says:
I started playing piano when I was big enough to reach the keys from my sister's lap. I love the piano. I've played more guitar than that, though. It's easier to carry around and I've had a habit of moving around. But I'm best at singing. I pray best when I'm singing.
I've been in Austin since the fall of 2008 and love this town. Before that I was in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I learned to sing jazz and also how to hang in a bluegrass pick. Colorado was home previous to the South. I am originally from the North East and I spend most of my summers there, playing gigs and visiting friends and family.
I'm happy playing solo, duo, trio or with a full band.

Harmony is made with 5 parts love. ***********************************************************************************
I love to swim.
I love the sound and feel of the forest floor beneath bare feet.
I love cities because they've got Jazz.
I love the country because it lets me breathe.

Some musicians don't sing or play anything, they just love it.
