Joan Baez, Judy Collins, Jean Redpath, Anne Briggs, Sandy Denny, Tommy Makem, Clancy Brothers, Corries, Old Blind Dogs, Silly Wizard, Boys of the Lough and a host of others.
I've been singing most of my life, and am fascinated by traditional ballads - especially the Child Ballads which consist of 305 ballads from England and Scotland, along with their American derivatives. I enjoy delving into the history of the ballads and discovering different versions of these timeless, wonderful songs, all of which tell a story.
I also enjoy Irish "pub" music and perform a lot of Clancy Brothers/Tommy Makem, Dubliners, Irish Rovers material with my musical partners - banjo player John Robison, and fiddler Bernard Farrell - together we form the trio Turf Fire.
