IF Mary was on Myspace, she would indeed be here, but as it is, she doesn't do this sort of thing, leaving it all up to the dedicated team at her own record label, Mary Hopkin Music.
Mary's fans will know all about how she shot to fame in 1968. Twiggy, Paul McCartney, Apple, Those Were the Days, etc. So we're not going to go into that.
In the beginning of this century she unearthed some recordings that were made between 1970 and the present day, and she has been persuaded to release them album by album on condition that she doesn't have to do anything.
We released 'Live at the Royal Festival Hall 1972' in 2005 and proved that there are still hardcore fans out there who eagerly await unheard material by Mary (and bless you all!). 'Valentine' followed, and now 'Recollections' and 'Christmas Songs'. The release of 'Now and Then' completes the archives except for a boxed set around Christmas 2009, and then we start on the newer stuff that Mary's been writing, and there's plenty of that already!
Ok, Mary has done some interviews lately but they involved lots of wheedling and negotiation (with Mary that is, not with the media!) You can hear them here. Bear in mind though that the lack of autographs, personal appearances, gigs, TV and tours continues.
