| General | Writing, raising a family, and cleaning my shotgun. | | Music | I have a horrible, masochistic addiction to 1980s popular music. It makes my husband want to yark. I don't blame him. No one should. | | Movies | I love three kinds of films: (1) very well-written, edgy stuff like Memento, (2) blockbusters with leading women roles, like Chicago, and (3) zombie movies. | | Television | I've loved HBO and Showtime series like Dexter, Rome, Deadwood, etc. I have full DVD sets of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. My favorite comedies are The Simpsons, Seinfeld, and (most recently) 30 Rock. Tina Fey is a goddess. | | Books | I'm all over the map here. True crime, thriller fiction, old Star Trek novels, the Little House on the Prairie series - I read it all, and I love it. I'm currently working through the His Dark Materials (Golden Compass) trilogy. Great stuff. | | Heroes | It begins and ends with my husband, who may have edited some of the material on this page. I'm a New York Times best-selling author who lives in Minnesota with one adoring husband and two adorable children. My most popular series, the UNDEAD & UNWED books, follows the exploits of a thirty-year-old woman who wakes up one day to find out she's Queen of the Vampires. Problem is, she doesn't act like it. Hilarity and adventure ensue.

Who I'd like to meet:
Katie Holmes and ask her if she'd like me to help her escape. I met her husband Tom Cruise once, unintentionally, in Harvard Square. Had my Sony Walkman on (to all you young 'uns - it's like having an iPod on, except clunkier) and walked right through the set of The Firm. Ended up getting dragged from the set by associate directors. My thoughts on Tom Cruise? Very short. Also, doesn't appear to appreciate Sony Walkmans.
