Well, Folks, time to move on again! First, it was my Back to the Beat (Generation), at The Grind, then at the Parkersburg Art Center. B2B was dedicated to the blending of poetry and music - 2 sides of the same coin. Then I held my Living Room Jam, at Back Roads Pizza & Pub, focusing on the spirit of the Jam. We all had such a real good time! Now, on to a new adventure! I am working on my first “Back to the Beat (Generation)” CD. It will feature my “Beat Poems” - where I will be playing percussion with recitation of my poetry - along with many “Variations on the Theme.” Derrick Tacy, a very talented local singer-songwriter, will be collaborating with me, putting his unique talent to use creating tunes for many of my poems, and producing the music. Derrick can be seen (and heard) on Songpull.com, Parkersburg, WV - Number 5, performing one of his many great original tunes. And ….. As a very special treat, my son Eric Goddard will also be featured on this CD! Eric will be performing two songs that he composed, one from a poem that I wrote, inspired by Eric when he was 8 years old; one from a very poignant poem of my brother Lou’s. Eric will also add some mandolin accents to many of the tunes - and there will be many other musical surprises! The Flying Silver Flute of my brother Lou Gonot, and the virtuoso guitar stylings of Jim Petry will provide some of the instrumental accents - anyone who attended the shows at the Art Center will remember just how great this music can be - took me places I love to go! In other words, this will be a real (extended) family CD, with poetry - music - and plenty of fun - Looking forward to sharing this journey with you all! *****
