Mary Newton is up and coming singer songwriter and composer. She writes her own songs and records them, as she is also an audio engineer. She is happy to share some of her work with you. She started writing songs at a young age and comes from an extremely creative family. Her brothers both work in Hollywood in film and she spends her time off in her studio. She has a lot of work behind her in the last 3 years. She loves the Cranberries, Enya, Clannad, Enigma, HIM and the Cult. Her favorite songwriter is Ville Valo at present. Mary studies foreign languages and is recording some Finnish songs. She loves history and is an avid reader she has studied theater and fashion design. Mary’s grandfather was a big influence in her life teaching her to sing jazz. Having a British father and an American mother who studies history and a theater background and who studies genealogy it has given Mary lots of information to pull from when writing her material. Mary gave up a theater scholarship in acting to pursue her first love Music. She gets a lot of support from her step dad who let her sing in her bedroom for years without complaint. And has a brother who is one of the best audio engineers around and who also produces songs with her. She records with her uncle Ray Hamilton a popular musician in the Tulsa OK area. He has produced some songs with her. She is soon to record with her talented uncles tom Hamilton of the Human Expression 1966 garage psych band and Paul Hamilton an amazing lead guitarist. She hopes to work with her uncle Bobby again and also her uncle Joel Hamilton one day. Mary was born in England raised Perth Australia which she loved and moved back to Minnesota with her mom and step dad. She sings world music and is at home in all three countries.
