Everyone! Especially Sarah McLachlan, Coheed and Cambria, Thursday, Saosin, Foo Fighters, The Killers, The Strokes, Idina Menzel, Lea Salonga, Jennifer Kimball, Kris Delmhorst, Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco, Dar Williams, Counting Crows, The Smiths, and pretty much the whole Lilith Fair crew.
Sounds Like
People say Tori Amos, Jewel, Michelle Branch, Sarah McLachlan, Avril Lavigne, Hayley Williams from Paramore, Pink, Jonatha Brooke, Marilyn D'Amato, Courtney Love, Cyndi Lauper, and some even say Janis Joplin at times. I just think I sound like me, but I take all of those comparisons as huge compliments. :)
Mary Pascoe is a singer/songwriter and SAG/AFTRA actress born October 17, 1982 in Battle Creek, Michigan. In 2006, Pascoe released her indie album "Who Brings a Cat to the Disco?" on her own record label, Crabble Dabble Entertainment. She plays guitar and piano (self-taught on both), writes all her own music, and is known for producing her tracks on her own and doing all the web and graphic design for her projects.
The feisty redhead opened for Jill Sobule in 2001 while attending the prestigious Wellesley College, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree at the age of 20. She scored a principal role in the Julia Roberts film, "Mona Lisa Smile," in 2002, where she shared the screen with a star-studded cast boasting such names as Kirsten Dunst, Julia Stiles, Dominic West, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Topher Grace.
Also an accomplished writer, Pascoe's creative and journalistic work have been published in dozens of magazines, newspapers, and online news outlets. She is writing a novel called "Trip" set to be published in 2010.
Pascoe now resides in Los Angeles, California, where she regularly plays live shows at such world famous venues as The Viper Room, The Whisky a Go Go, and Club Good Hurt. She has performed in over 30 plays from Boston to LA (and several cities in between), and has been seen on over 50 television shows. Her web series, "Rockstars," became quite popular in 2006 and continues to have a strong following. Created by Pascoe, she also acts as the writer/director/producer while playing the lead role, creating the music, and editing each episode by herself.
Spring of 2009 will bring a new album with a hint of rock infused into the folk foundation. Again it will be self-produced, this time with Pascoe as the sole recording engineer. Rave reviews of the pre-released single, "Come Home," spell even more success for her sophomore effort. Pascoe is featured in the 2009 spoof, "Queerantine!" and she plans to create a brand new web series. No doubt there will also be many more films, television shows, and live performances in her future. Mary Pascoe is definitely one to watch!
