Marport Against Racism is a local group campaigning against the far right, fascism and racism in our community.
As a group we have pledged to fight the divisive, discriminatory politics of racism whenever they appear in our town and whatever form they take.
The group was set up in September 2006 after a member of the public suggested it at a public meeting on the British National Party. Since then we’ve organised leafleting, gigs and meetings as well as helping out other anti-racists in Cumbria to counter the activities of the racist British National Party.
