   Mary Shelley's Blurbs
About me:
Who am I? I would love to say that something distinguished me for myself but as of yet I am known only for my connections. My father, William Godwin, some would say was a monster. Certainly he is a renowned philosopher and champion of the rights of all, scornful of marriage. And yet he married my mother, a woman of equal fame. The author of the Vindication of the Rights of Woman, the first treatise put forth the idea that women have just as much value as a man. I will forever mourn the fact that I never knew her, for she died when I was an infant. And of course my dearest Shelley, my husband. The famous poet. Oh I know he has not yet reached that pinnacle of fame that Lord Byron, my stepsister's inamorata, has but he will yet. I have no doubt of it. And so I am daughter to two famous revolutionaries, wife of a poet, mother of my darling Wilmouse and, lastly, stepsister to Claire. Would the last were not so. Truly, should a wife live with her sister once she has married? For now, I fear it is so.
Who I'd like to meet:
Poets, artists, writers, musicians, travelers and philosophers.

I want to be outdoors but it's too light out.
I live for the dark, I wait for the night
I suffer in dreams I can't breathe right
I flourish beyond the cold light of day
I just want the moon forever to stay

Shall I not have intelligence with the earth?
Am I not partly leaves and vegetable mould myself.

how beautiful is to reread your writing and to find new and expanded meanings in it. It grows with the growing of your consciousness....so very ahead with respect to many writers of your age.

I am the rain
Falling down to cover you
Wish me away
But I'm here for your own good
I am the storm
Sent to wake you from your dream
Show me your scorn
But you'll thank me in the end

One must not become a cultured philistine. I give praise to such ambrosial figures such as yourself.

The dancer Eduardova, a lover of music, travels in the tram, as everywhere else, in the company of two vigorous violinists whom she makes play often. For there is no known reason why one should not play in the tram if the playing is good, pleasing to the fellow passengers, and costs nothing; i.e., if the hat is not passed round afterwards. Of course, at first it is a little surprising and for a short while everybody finds it improper. But at full speed, in a strong breeze and on a silent street, it sounds quite nice.

Love of two is one
Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn't go on
Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared (saying don't be afraid)
Come on baby (and she had no fear)
And she ran to him (then they started to fly)
They looked backward and said goodbye (she had become like they are)
She had taken his hand (she had become like they are)
Come on baby (don't fear the reaper)

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Chanting in my ears are demons, ceaseless prattle of mocking heard.
Enfolded madness from my brain cries out, yet with my mouth I cannot form a word.
Ignorant of help without, I muster all soulless energies to produce a shout.
Trickling down long dark alleyways of night, the screams roll and die as I lie in fright.

"Along the shore the cloud waves breaks, The twin suns sink behind the lake, The shadows lengthen ........................................
In Carcosa.
Strange is the night where black stars rise, And strange moons circle through the skies, But stranger still is ..................................
Lost Carcosa.
Songs that the Hyades shall sing, Where flap the tatters of the King, Must die unheard in ....................................
Dim Carcosa.
Song of my soul, my voice is dead, Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed Shall dry and die in ...................................
Lost Carcosa."
