In early 2002 two bass guitars began communicating with each other. Assisted by Pete Burn(tm) and B Stokoe these two guitars crafted an album which became known as ’Mammuthus’. The rumour was spread and around the world people who knew all about Heavy bought, stole, ripped this debut.
Sadly the two bass guitars parted ways, due to sexual differences. As one bass guitar remained, under the watchful eye of B ’status’ Sto-Quo, Pete(c) brought a regular guitar into the cave. Which was followed by a drummeister who was known across the land as Rob Woodcock. As the trio formed the eternal triangle and conjured up extended musical blasts which eventually saw release worldwide in the form of ’Solid State’, a bored passer by sometimes called Stu-III(HMS12sumthin) loitered then was beckoned to provide his voice for the evolving mess of beauty that MARZARAAN was becoming.
Word of these four northerners reached Sir Lord John Peel, who introduced radio listeners to MARZURAAN. Then he was dead. Without a radio friendly to spread the message, MARZURAAN took their music around the northern areas of England-Land and Scottish-Land where numerous people crowded small rooms and large inns to bare witness to this fine, tuneful, twisted, drugged group of four.
A third LP was then recorded, ’Solid Wood’; a four song wax slab of pure heaviness with lush textures and gorgeous tunes. More shows followed, and the idea that MARZURAAN were doom and slow and sludgy etc etc began to crack as the band conjured tunes that were not only under six minutes, but also had canny melodies and understandable(ish) vocals.
MARZURAAN’s latest release, a split cd with TenHornedBeast, was recorded and has just been released on Aurora Borealis records, distributed by Southern records to wonderful acclaim around this world. A compilation CD of covers, lives, rehearsals etc. tilted ’Five Years Of Fuck All’ is now out to cash in on the recent success of the latest release, before the band return to the studio to record another album.
Most of our releases are still in print, please message if you want to purchase any of them...

Micky has spent the last 26 years concentrating on not making any money from playing in a succession of bands such as The Blood Robots, Generic, Anything But That, One By One, Ebola, & Jinn; & thought it was time to add pen to plectrum as weapon of torture.
"Drawing on his years in the gritty DIY punk scene, & dredging up universal memories of bleak, grey childhoods, Micky McGuinness has penned a deliciously grim and nihilistic collection of hard-nosed crime fiction, peopled with the sort of realistically nasty characters we might all have grown up with living next door to us... shining a light into the darkest recesses of the subconcious where REVENGE is king, this is an impressively memorable body of believable work that will stay with you long after the last bloody act of retribution has splattered the final page..." --Ian Glasper author of Burning Britain & The Day The Country Died.

Blue Fields in Paramount is a very personal and fascinating opus, a beautiful introduction to the style of this talented artist, that could be qualified as 'dark psychedelia for daydream believers'. This takes place this Thursday! See you there? d.x.
Distraction presents Kania Tieffer, a otter-fixated Chick On Speed cacking out pleasantly disturbed lo-fi fake nonsense r'n'b and vitriolic electropop with cheap children's keyboards, a battered old computer and an electric guitar, in an unmissable live show. Support comes from sample stealing, tune pinching, melody wrecking a-moral wrong-uns and kings of nostalgia-core Radgepackets, and pointlessly hostile bootmash-noisewhore-wrongtronica idiot Dressed In Wires! Cor!

The Retail Sectors new 8" square vinyl lathe in handmade packaging with download code. "They're everyone's (or should be) favourite Japanese post rock band", according to Norman Records.
Combining a Steve Reich-sense of guitar-driven melodic elements with an abstract, almost Trans-Am like dexterity, each song builds in intricacy and volume until the immaculate devastation of the drums kick in, taking off on a flight into a vast sky of loneliness. STRICTLY LIMITED TO 150 COPIES! Half have already went via pre-order, so if you want one, order now!
Apparently, the vocals to 'Sacred Love' were recorded by H. R. while he was doing a stint in County for marijuana possession. While this would explain the grainy nature on said track, I did come across this snippet of rock trivia in '1001 albums you should hear before you die' at Byker library, hence, I am not entirely convinved of the truthfulness of this calim.
