While at Berklee College of Music, upon receiving an achievement-based scholarship, Masako earned Diploma in Jazz Piano Performance at Berklee where she studied with renowned jazz pianist, Ray Santisi. She performs in Boston area and entertains guests with her broad knowledge of the American Song Book as well as more contemporary, popular music.

"Then I had just enough time to catch a set and a half of Masako Yotsugi at the piano in the Intrigue Cafe (617.856.7745) of the Boston Harbor Hotel. What a great sound and what a great view. There were hardly any boats docked, and I was able to sit and watch the whitecaps rise and disappear while Masako made the lucky people remember all those great tunes that the children have forgotten-or never knew. Although people in the club mostly miss out on the visual impact of her playing -she is somewhat hidden by the angle of the piano- her creativity is very much in evidence..."
