Bio
A self-taught musician, Massimo, who was born and raised in Rome, Italy, started playing at the age of twelve. He performed with many groups throughout the country, Including “I Percussionisti di Roma”, a percussion ensemble. He was also part of several Jazz festivals in Europe. In 1986 Massimo came to the United States and has been performing and recording with a variety of bands. After teaching privately for a few years, he has since focused his energies mostly on composing and recording ; he describes his music and drumming style as “…an attempt to bring the listener’s awareness to a higher level… He believes that his music is intended to fill those many musical voids that exist around us. He draws his inspiration mainly from surrealism, along with a basic ingredient: Improvisation. -

Thanks for your support. www.rickymolina.com - Massimo DeAngelis1 year agoDear Fusion Fans:
Massimo latest project is dominated by short pieces, many of them written for beautifully fake mallet instruments and real drums. The approach is refreshingly primitive. Many words come to mind when attempting to describe "The Missing Pieces": surreal, haunting, mysterious, dream-like and let's not forget...Stimulating!
Massimo exploration of the boundaries between art and reality, and for his distortion of every day recurring patterns and experimentation with rhythmic shapes, make for an interesting listening experience. The highly imaginative compositions create a fantastic and indescribable dream-universe all their own, one which must ultimately pay attention to in order to be fully appreciated. It is always good to "listen" when musicians are constantly progressing.-Al Quan Tonesto-Video Promo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k95cBX4c6-oYou can find it here:

Creative Insanity...The Book
by Massimo DeAngelis (2010)
A collection of surreal short stories
You can go see it at
https://www.lulu.com/product/hardcover/creative-insanitythe-book/12791788
This wonderful collection of short stories takes you through Massimo
psychological development as a child to the development of his writing and
creative mind and ties it all in with his drive as an artist. Unlike other
books, this one fuses all these elements together: Innocence, dementia,
comedy, surrealism. It's uncanny how much of the language is deformed
and modify to come up with new techniques and even new words, all to aid at
the impossible visualization of the many situations created here.
if you love the opposite of everything, then this is the only book you'll
ever need. It would leave you both wanting more and completely satisfied.
I guess since this is the only book of it's kind, it takes the cake. Rarely
does a work of this caliber see the light of day. It is truly a funny and
stimulating surreal adventure.
ALL THE BEST,
MASSIMO. - 1 year ago
