NEW ALBUM RELEASE 'TECHNOPIA' JAN 2010 ,
MASK mix extemporisation with structured songs and beats.
MASK are legendary vocalist Sonja Kristina (Curved Air/Acid Folk/ Ambient jazz : www.sonjakristina.com) in collaboration with acclaimed Ambient- classical composer Marvin Ayres (www.myspace.com/marvinayres). They are both innovators in music and performance.
Marvin Ayres's Cellosphere (Mille Plateaux) established him as a groundbreaking composer/producer creating sonically enhanced atmospheres and melodic harmonics with layers of orchestral strings.
MASK are releasing their second album 'Technopia 'on R.A.R.E Records (Repertoire) Jan 2010 and are planning performances in the UK and Europe in April 2010.
Sonja Kristina has been touring with the reformed Curved Air in 2008/2009, more Curved Air dates are planned after the MASK tour.
Marvin Ayres will be performing his compositions at major international sonic festivals in the summer of 2010. This will be a rare opportunity for audiences to enjoy MASK's special shows in their first European tour since 2005.
The music (poetic classical- electronica) has been likened to Elbow/Bjork/Sigur Ros/Bat For Lashes.
The Technopia show will be set in a futuristic post apocalyptic barren terrain in which ghostly lovers revisit a darkly passionate relationship from the last volatile years of their past lives .....Essentially a theatrical and dramatic performance of MASK songs and music with stunning visual and sonic effects .
Marvin Ayres is a virtuoso electric cellist, violinist and keyboard player and a master of sonic manipulation. Sonja Kristina and Marvin Ayres will be backed by drums/percussion and two multi instumentalists/performers (bass, guitar, keyboards, violins).
MASK will be playing London, Paris, Berlin, Rome , Stockholm and Moscow along with other towns in the UK, France, Germany and Italy .
They record and perform experimental voice and strings soundscapes. fusing elements of Ambient/Electronica, Trance and Classical music to breathtaking and original effect.

Music has always been a place where anything is possible - a refuge, a magical world where anyone can go, all kinds of people can come together, and anything can happen. We are limited only by our imagination. I believe that what we do and learn inside the world of music can affect what goes on in the world in a big, positive way. music is so important - like food and water. There are so many possibilities, and many doors yet to be opened. (Bill Frisell)

Hi there! Sorry for reacting so latelly. But I was absent for a month, so after that I had an "automatic aproving session" with more than 100 friend requests. Verifying all of their senders was impossible, you know. But recently I discovered Marvin. It was a shock! Such a great musician!! What you 2 have released here is quite different from what I saw on his page, but still excelent and spectacular. Now I have to study closely the wonderful voice by Marvin's side. I'm glad for being your friend. Keep in touch. mael
