well to my knowledge the mafia is a bunch of people banded together under a leader, in some cases the leader is called the 'don'. they usually exist to perform certain actions that are often of a less than legal nature. examples in movies and such are usually ethnic in background, italian mafia, russian mafia, yakuza ect ect ect.

or did you mean mafia as it pertained to nerf last year?
