Dance is my heart, cut it out, and I shall die. Music is the blood that nourishes it.
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
Who I'd like to meet:
Damn good muscians. Especially those that play my favorite instruments, but one who really projects and wrenches the soul, and makes me move. Perhaps musicians who can see into my soul, and bring forth that sound to move through my body.
People who changed the perception, the direction, who were and are innovative. I want to meet inspiraion, motivation, creativity and the song or paper or pixils that will capture my first masterpeice on, all the way to my last.
Well thanks :) i wish i could lie there and listen to that stuff all day, try Sigur Ros if you haven't listened to them yet. I don't know about Autumn war but maybe Border?
i'm finishing up a "this i believe" essay for NPR that i have to submit, i think i'll actually post it to my blog on the myspace cause i haven't updated it in forever.
i have psych essay on the Rorschach Test (blah) a sustainability essay on sustainable cities (ugh-blah) and another sustainability essay on the "life cycle" of a starbucks cup. (mmm-woo) lol
use this metronome site (download the java add on if you don't already have it, it's none buggy, i promise). click on the beat # 69, this means that it will tick 69 times per minute. (a minute which is the unit of measure used to calculate tempo.)
start with 69 beats per minute, and strum the guitar downward starting at low E four times per chord. when you feel comfortable enough, make the tempo faster by selecting 72 beats per minute and upward. the song itself is meant to be slow, but it's good practice to train yourself to switch between chords at a faster pace.
next time we meet we'll talk more about note value and once we get down distinction between whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, and so on, songs we play will sound more like songs, and less like monotonous strumming.
but for now... PRACTICE STRUMMING WITH THE METRONOME. everyone learning a new instrument has to go through this "boring" process. holy hell. like my old violin teacher? sheit. i'd play the same scale over and over and over, and all she would do when she felt satisfied was quicken the tempo by 3 beats per minute. it. was. hell. but TOTALLY worth it :D
and as an ADDED bonus, working with a metronome and analyzing beats will probably help your interpretation of music when you're dancing! who knew learning the guitar would be SO helpful??! :D lol
plus, since your bestfriend is SOO nice, you're getting all this instruction FREE rather than 40 bucks an hour. *thumbs up* :DD
ahaha it's coming along, i have three verses down but i'm trying to figure out a chord progression for the chorus that fits the mood of the song.
i'm aiming for, if you weren't to listen to the lyrics you'd think it was a very uplifting song. ahaha.
were you able to figure out the chords for the song i was teaching you?
this site: www.ultimate-guitar.com has any song/chord you could possible imagine. i suggest looking up some songs by The Cranberries cause they tend to have easier chords :D
*reads status* aww hey remain optimistic about your performance tonight, i know it's not really... your thing, and they're being assholes about their interpretation of bellydance, but don't let it get you down.
just think of how beautiful today was and how soothing it was to be submerged in nature :]
Hey thanks for coming on friday! It was really good to see you. I did pretty bad but I think I'll get better with practice.. Just a new environment, you know? anyway, thanks!
Thanks! That realy helps. I want to use folie in there somewhere... Why is this so hard D: Thanks for the help. My middle name is Mariah. I want to make it sound kind of troupe sounding as well, or so that I can use it for solo and/or group stuff. Zella Folie, Le Folie, Zelia Folie, Le Sahara Belle, Folie Rose, La Belle Folie... aagggh
naming myself sucks. :P
