Records in the UK, TP2K re located to Seattle after living in England for two
years
The sound consists of quick fire grooving gems and classic guitar pop
ditties that pay homage to everything from Teenage Fanclub/Cheap Trick/
dBs/Who/Ramones/Blondie and the Beatles.
Mas Rapido managed to keep it tight while admiringly mixing up the
dynamics . Energetic melodies collide with incandescent harmonies delivering
feel good vibes.
They have released six cds on Parasol Records in Urbana Illinois.

"Unmistakably direct Pity Party opener “Emily Lloyd” is as much an homage to the British actress by the same name (or, more specifically, the character named Lynda she played in the 1987 movie Wish You Were Here) as it is a tribute to a handful of Mas Rapido!’s influences—The Kinks, The Beatles, the theme song from Spider-man, and that power pop sound that may have died tragically when three quarters of The Exploding Hearts did—but it’s not entirely special until the title track hits immediately afterwards and takes things in a completely different, if not altogether Orbison-esque direction. Due out next month on Parasol Records, Pity Party is a love letter to classic rock and roll crafted with a punk aesthetic and signed by a band who understands that sometimes a morose record is best played jubilantly—it is, at least, if you want people to sing along contently to a lyric like “You were in control once before / Go on, kill yourself.”
