Massacre at the Wake is a five man group hailing from Salt Lake City. Influenced by numerous genres, their music is an epic adventure into hardcore.
Massacre at the Wake is:
Shawn Nielsen: Vocals. Although the youngest member of the group, his experience shows through in his material. Shawn is also the lyricist and his words help convey the feeling behind their compositions. This is his 4th group project to date.
Alpheus Bush: Bass. With fifteen years of experience under his belt, he brings creativity to the music with his unique bass lines. Alpheus declined to remember when asked how many projects he has been involved with and also cites too many influences to mention.
Jason Cowell: Guitar. Jason not only has nearly twenty years of experience on the guitar, he is also happens to be the only member of the band to have been signed by a record company in a previous project. His addition to the songs is readily apparent, adding depth and character to the music.
Josh Braun: Guitar. Two Decades of experience playing guitar, as well as training at the University of Utah help Josh bring interest and structure to the songs. A member of numerous groups during the last two decades, his love for music is obvious in his playing.
Jason Thompson (..daRt..): Drums. Former drummer of Cavityburn. Jason has been drumming for over a decade. Trained in rudimental snare drumming, played in symphonies, orchestras, jazz bands, drum corps and percussion ensambles growing up. Jason takes a fresh approach to drumming mixing the sounds of most drummers today with corps style snare licks. Jason brings dynamics to the table.
