Drawing heavily on artists such as Steve Earle, Hank Williams, Corb Lund, and Ben Kweller the boys in Massey & the Fergusons bring together musicians and songwriters of very diverse backgrounds (with genres ranging from funk, to blues, to classical, to punk) and form a cohesive unit that not only writes some of the saddest country, and most driving rock songs, but also delivers one of the most energetic and enjoyable performances one will have the privilege of seeing...............When asked to give her take on Massey & the Fergusons, one fan said, “Massey and the Fergusons combine a broad range of musical machinery to cultivate a top country/rock performance. Rustic vocals, mournful pedal steel, and playful banjo picking hitch together to yield a gritty elemental sound.”...........................While generally a new band to the scene, members of Massey & the Fergusons have shared the stage, played with, recorded with or opened for such diverse acts as:
James Brown, Rod Stewart, Randy Bachman, The Deep Dark Woods, Wilson Pickett, Brad Johner, Kashmir, Inshallah, Kyle Riabko, The Constantines, Sloan, Matt Mayes and El Topedo, Ron Sexsmith, Alexisonfire........................Massey & the Fergusons are led by singer/songwriter/lead guitar player Todd Peters, with his songs about heartache, drinking, and Jesus and by singer/songwriter/ guitar player Berkeley Buchko, with his songs about heartache, drinking and Bigfoot. They are held together by an above average rhythm section in Jerms Olson (bass/vocals) and Shane “Schweaty” Buhler (drums/vocals). Without the country instruments, a country band is just another boring middle of the road rock band, so Jody Geisbrecht (pedal steel/harmonica/vocals), and Darcy Burback (fiddle/mandolin/vocals) take the band to the next level with their spin on these classic music making machines......................Currently, Massey & the Fergusons are promoting a self-titled EP, recorded and engineered in Saskatoon by Dan Canfield. For any information on the band including booking, contact them at masseyandthefergusons@gmail.com.

The new songs sound groovy. Virginia is on permanent rotation in my brain. Medically speaking it's unhealthy. Apologies in advance about blowing you off the stage on March 13th. We can't help it! Awesome has its drawbacks.
